Country Glen Lodge is a modern property, with 20 Qualmarked 4 ½ star luxurious units. These are comprised of 6 studio units, 12 one bedroom suites and 2 family units with two bedrooms. All furnished with your ultimate comfort in mind and with double glazing and private balconies. Our convenient city location means that our guests can walk to all of the central city attractions; Cathedral Square, Arts Centre, Arts Market, Botanical Gardens, Court Theatre, Christchurch Museum, Art Gallery, Town Hall, Convention Centre, Hagley Park Golf Course and the Casino who offer a free shuttle service after 6pm. Also within 6 minutes walk are 16 restaurants catering for all tastes. 10 minute drive to and from Christchurch International Airport makes Country Glen Lodge a superb first and last stop for your travel plans. Our rooms have high quality Super King and Queen Beds with deluxe bedding. Super King beds may be split to King Singles for your convenience. 5 units have full cooking facilities, and the other units have twin hob tops with a microwave. All units have plunger coffee, instant coffee, tea and drinking chocolate. We also have a well stocked in house bar. Broadband internet connection is also available. | Getting There |
Travelling in from the North (Picton, Nelson, Kaikoura and Hanmer) keep on the Main North road then onto Papanui Road, when you come to the Bealey Avenue lights, turn left and Country Glen Lodge is 250 meters on your left. Driving in from the South on SHWY1 at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit down Blenheim Road, when you are on Moorhouse Avenue, take your 4th exit left into Montreal Street, follow this until you come to Bealey Avenue, turn right and we a 100 meters on your left. Driving in from either Inland Scenic Route or Arthur’s Pass SHWY 73 when you come to the first set of traffic lights, turn left into Russley Road, when you come to the first roundabout, take the 3rd exit into Memorial Avenue then into Fendalton Road, when you come to Hagley park turn left into Harper Avenue, coming out of the Park you are on Bealey Avenue, and we are 350 meters on your left. Driving in from Akaroa SHWY75, turn right onto Moorhouse Avenue, take your 4th exit left into Montreal Street, follow this until you come to Bealey Avenue, turn right into Bealey Avenue and we a 100 meters on your left. If you are picking up a rental car from the Airport, at the 2nd roundabout take the 2nd exit into Memorial Avenue, this becomes Fendalton Road, when you come to Hagley Park turn left into Harper Avenue, coming out of the Park you are on Bealey Avenue, and we are 350 meters on your left. If you are arriving into Christchurch by aeroplane or train and not hiring a car, I would advise you to take a taxi we recommend Blue Star, Gold Band or First Direct. |

Country Glen Lodge has 24 off-street car parks which are FREE. All car parks are under 24 hour video surveillance with recording data. |
| Things To Do |
International Antarctic Centre is 10 minutes drive from Country Glen Lodge, watch the feeding of the little blue penguins, and take a Hagglund Tractor which is used at Antarctic. Allow at least 2 hours for this experience. We have concession passes for you and your family. Air Force Museum Take control! Activities and hands on experience for all the family. Try an ejection seat for size, or squeeze into a gun turret or fly one of their simulators. Orana wildlife Park: NZ only open range Zoo on 80 hectares of land and is home to over 400 animals from over 70 different species. Tamaki Heritage Village: This re-enactment is a first for New Zealand, journey back to the early 1800s and enjoy the history of two cultures come to terms with one another. At the conclusion of the evening enjoy a combination banquet of traditional Hangi (food cooked on hot rocks in an earthen oven). Christchurch Wild life Cruise: Just 15 minutes from central Christchurch you’ll enjoy many scenic and historical highlights including early Maori and European settlements, an 18th century fort and shipwrecks, as well as the rare Hector’s dolphin. These are to mention but a few! Tram rides, Gondola experience, Willowbank wildlife reserve, day trips to wherever you would like to go and see! All trips and attractions can be organized for you any where in the South Island, in advance, at reception at no extra cost to you! |
