We are located within walking distance of the Portarlington Township, the beach and boat ramps - also handy to Portarlington's best rock fishing area. Our new deluxe units have been refurbished to cater for that special moment, complete with your own spa bath, king size bed and flat screen TV. So suitable for that special occasion! The other units are Queen Suites, Family Units and there is a Disabled unit for those who require special features. All rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. From Tullamarine airport we are approx one and a half hour car ride, from Avalon airport we are approximately one hour drive. You can catch a V-Line train to Spencer street station then catch a bus which will drop you off at the Motel. We are an hour and a half drive from Melbourne and half an hour from Geelong. |

Portarlington Victoria is a small seaside resort on the northern tip of the Bellarine Peninsula. This low-key Australian resort town has long been a favourite holiday destination for Melburnians. In the old days, families would catch a 19th century paddle steamers from Williamstown; a 1 hour trip down the coast of Port Phillip Bay by paddlewheel. The Ozone, sank offshore in 1925 and now forms a breakwater where a paddlewheel can still be seen above the water-line. Portarlington has a rich history with heritage listed buildings, museums, pier and marina, hotels and restaurants. The region boasts an array of fine wines; be sure to set aside a time to check out wineries such as Scotchmans Hill, Bellarine Estate and Kilgour Estate. Naturally, you'll also enjoy fine cuisine in Portarlington's the diverse cafes and restaurants. Portarlington celebrates the Mussel Festival in January. Fresh local mussels are a feast not to be missed. Portarlington is superbly placed on the Bellarine Peninsula. Portarlington Motel is a short walk to town and beaches. Your host Grant is a keen fisherman who is happy to give tips on the best fishing locations for both beach and rock fishing. Portarlington is a hilly village with a large flora, fauna and recreation reserve. Attractions include sailing, golf, excellent fishing, a safe swimming beach; all within walking distance to the Motel. If you bring along bikes, a lovely track leads around the foreshore to Indented Head, as does the roadway known as The Esplanade. The surrounding area produces vegetables, poultry and dairy products. Markets are held opposite the primary school in Newcombe St on the last Sunday of the month from September to April. Craft markets are held at Parks Hall in Newcombe St on the last Sunday of the month. An Easter Art Show is held annually. Portarlington Beach Motel's office contains a number of visitor information brochures should you wish to explore region. The owners will only be too pleased to share their knowledge of the area. |
