Chinchilla shire is ideally located for those who wish to escape to the pristine beauty and rustic experiences of the Western Downs. Take some time out, relax and have a BBQ at Charley’s Creek or visit the Kogan Creek viewing platform and observe Australia's most environmentally friendly power station. If you prefer to get out and about, why not fossick for the world renowned "Chinchilla Red" petrified wood, drop in a line at one of the fishing spots or head out to the Weir for some water sports. If time is on your side, then perhaps you should experience the variety of Chinchilla, and take one of the seven tourist drives on offer around the shire. History buffs can go back in time as they explore the variety of historical displays at the museum. |
