There are 44 fully equipped bedrooms, including 5 Comfort Suites. Barcelona is one of the most dynamic and exciting cities on the western part of the Mediterranean. The style and eccentricities of Gaudi's architecture city will fascinate you. The city has many points of interest for the tourist, among them, magnificent gothic and modernist buildings as well as museums dedicated to Picasso, Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies, the new Museu d'Art Contemporani and the excellent Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. The most important places of interest are the Templo de la Sagrada Familia, the uncompleted masterpeice of the architect Gaudi, La Pedrera, la Plaza de Cataluña, Vía Layetana and its Claustro, Paseo de Gracia, Las Ramblas, Gran Teatro del Liceo, Monumento a Colón, Barrio Gótico, Plaza Sant Jaume (Generalitat y Ayuntamiento), la Villa y el Puerto Olímpico, Palau Sant Jordi, Torre de Calatrava, Pueblo Español, Las Fuentes de Monjuic Plaza de toros Monumental, La Ciutadella, Sta. María del Mar, Casa Batlló, Casa Milá tambien llamada Pedrera and the Parque Güell declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Shoppings: The larger Spanish fashion chains, as well as jewelry, leather products, perfume and design shops are concentrated on the Paseo de Gracia, Diagonal, Sant Gervasi and Pedralbes. In the Citat Vella you can find antique shops, book shops, arts and crafts stores. On the Ramblas and the adjacent streets you can buy national and international press; books, exotic birds, flowers and souvenirs. Barcelona has a variety of markets throughout the city. In the Plaça Nova you can find antiques, in the Plaça del Pi there is a cheese, sweets and honey market. In the Plaça Reial you can buy stamps and coins. In the area surrounding the Sagrada Familia there is an arts and crafts market. We recommend you ask which days the markets are open as it it is only certain days per week. The large shopping centers are El Corte Inglés (Plaça de Catalunya, 14), El Triangle (Plaça de Catalunya-Carrer Brgara), L'Illa (Diagonal , 557) and Maremagnum (Moll d'Espanya, Port Vell). Barcelona also provides visitors with the Tombbus, distinctly identified with the Barcelona Ciudad de Compras and Barcelona Shopping Line from Plaça Catalunya to El Corte Ingles on Diagonal and vice versa. |
