Come to the friendliest town in Fiji – Levuka, on the island of Ovalau. Experience the history and the welcoming atmosphere of the only working colonial town in the South Pacific. Levuka Homestay is a new experience in “bed and breakfast” accommodation in Levuka. Stay in the comfort of our home which captures both the 'colonial' and the 'Fijian' themes that are so much part of the heritage of this town. We have four rooms for guests - three air conditioned rooms with queen size beds, and one room with a double bed and single bed. Your room is spacious, with polished floors, ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom, outside veranda and your own private entrance. You can relax on the covered deck in the lower part of the house or enjoy the fresh air in the privacy of our garden. You are also most welcome to enjoy the view from the upper deck, or read a good book in the comfort of our lounge room. A full breakfast is provided as part of the tariff - freshly made fruit juice, local fruit, cereal, pancakes, a cooked breakfast, fresh tea or brewed coffee. This should start your day off well, ready to enjoy your day's exploration of Levuka. |

| Getting There |
-Pacific Sun flies to Levuka twice daily from Nausori (Suva) Airport, departing at 8.00am and 3.00pm. Flight time is twelve minutes. For the forty minute drive from the airport to our home, we can arrange a taxi to pick you up. Or there is a minibus which shuttles people from the airport. Payments for these services are made direct to the driver. Flight bookings can be made on-line. - Patterson Brothers Shipping has a bus/ferry service between Suva and Levuka. The bus leaves the Suva Bus Stand at 1.00pm (reporting time is 12.30pm) and takes approximately two and a half hours to drive to Natovi Landing, where it drives on to the ferry for the one hour crossing to Ovalau Island. It then drives off and takes an hour to get to Levuka. You get off the bus in town and it is a five minute walk or a short taxi ride to our home. |

| Things To Do |
Are you feeling energetic? Or maybe you feel like a relaxing stroll through town. In Levuka, we try to cater for whatever mood you happen to be in, so that you can make the most of your stay in our lovely frontier town. Below are some suggestions for you to ponder: - Take a leisurely stroll through town, walk to a nearby waterfall, go for a hike - for any walking activities, spend some time with Nox. He is very proud of his island and is keen to share his knowledge of the history of the island and many other interesting facts. When he is not doing his walking tours, he spends his time looking after our beautiful garden here at the Homestay. - For a village experience with a difference, allow Epi to take you on his tour to his village of Lovoni, situated in the centre of the island. You can walk or take a van, and on your way, Epi will explain the flora, fauna and history of Ovalau. You will follow in the footsteps of the old Fiji warriors and see the places where they rested before raiding the town. - Or just visit a local village and experience the way Fijians live today. It is a mixture of the traditional and the modern ways of life. - Feel like doing something in the water. Open water diving instruction, reef diving, snorkelling and fishing trips are all available. - How about a trip to a small tropical island? A day trip to nearby Caqalai Island can be arranged for you. - There are photographic opportunities everywhere. Whether it is an old building or the local kids swimming at Market Bridge, always have your camera ready for that special reminder of your stay in Levuka. - Hungry or thirsty? There are a number of restaurants in Levuka that cater for the whole range of tastes, from European food, to Chinese food, to local Fijian food and to Indian food. Quench your thirst with a cold beer or wine or spirits, freshly made fruit juice, cappucino, and so on. Your stay in Levuka can be as busy or as relaxed as you want it to be. As soon as you arrive, the special ambiance of Levuka will become evident and we hope you will be eager to experience as much as possible during your stay. |
