For those who desire to explore the local culture, there are a few worthwhile attractions around the city. You can visit the towering white statue of the Buddha sitting on a hill in the area of Long Son Pagoda. North of the city, across the Nha Trang river, lies the Po Nagar temple dating from the 9th century. This ancient temple overlooks Xom Bong Bridge and some parts of the city. Dam market, the city�s biggest trade center, is another interest for tourists. There you can see a wide variety of stands and shops selling all kinds of goods, especially handicraft souvenirs and dried seafood. It would also be a good chance for tourists to mingle with the locals and try bargaining over some items.

Nha Trang also offers excellent opportunities to discover the wonderful underwater world. With its war clear water, divers would find it exciting to view colorful coral reefs and amazing marine life nearby the islands off Nha Trang beach. And a boat trip would be an alternative choice for tourists who don�t like to spend much time in the water. The trip includes stops for swimming and snorkelling, a good lunch on board, soft wine at a floating bar, a fruit party at Tam island resort, and a visit to Tri Nguyen Aquarium and a fishing village.

If you get tired of the sea and the noisy streets, try a river tour. It is an interesting excursion to a peaceful countryside and a pleasant chance to discover the locals� rural life. A sightseeing trip along the riverside, a walk through a coconut village, a ride on a horse carriage along a country road, a visit to an ancient house and a mat-weaving establishment, etc. all create an unforgettable impression on tourists.
