The Cara Motel is a 3½ star motel, with all suites being on the ground floor. The motel is situated opposite the Maryborough Base Hospital and in between the Hospital Cafe and Celebrations Bottle Shop in Walker Street. It is minutes from all attractions, including the Brolga Theatre, Conference Centre, shops, golf course and sporting grounds. The Show Grounds are 2 kilometres away. There is public transport available opposite the motel, including bus and taxi. For those travelling to Maryborough by train, a courtesy bus offers transport from the Tilt Train into the Transit Centre in Maryborough. From the Transit Centre it is only a short ride by taxi to the motel. The Cara Motel is known as 'the friendly motel' and has 13 clean and spacious ground floor suites set in a quiet environment. All suites are non smoking! Each suite has a microwave oven, refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, direct dial phone, wireless and dial-up Broadband, free Austar TV, reverse cycle air conditioning/ heating and ceiling fans. The motel also has a Tour Desk, to help and plan your tours or siteseeing. Tours may be booked at the Tour Desk. There is also a swimming pool for your enjoyment. Try the delicious home cooked meals, with breakfast available 7 days a week and evening meals available from Monday to Thursday or by arrangement. Meals are delivered to your suite free of room service charge. The Motel is operated by Penny Dickenson and also home to her gorgeous Golden Retriever, Bear. The Motel is well known for its exceptionally friendly service delivered in a professional manner, ensuring you an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Travelling from the South, drive past the turn off into Maryborough, keep on the Bruce Highway for several kilometres until you cross the Mary River and travel under 3 overpasses, then take the next right into Walker Street. The motel is 2 kilometres on the right opposite the Maryborough Base Hospital. Travelling from the North, after passing the Show Grounds on the Bruce Highway, take the next left into Walker Street. The motel is 2 kilometres on the right opposite the Maryborough Base hospital. |

-Maryborough Heritage Market every Thursday. -Ride the Mary Ann steam train each Thursday and the last Sunday of the month. -Visit the Military and Colonial Museum, the or the Light Horse and Military Museum. Or step back in time when you visit Brennan and Geraghty's store Museum, complete with stock dating back to the 1890's. -Take a bus tour and discover the history of Maryborough with Maryborough Tours. -See the city's wonderful old buildings with a walking or self drive tour. -Take a river cruise down the Mary River. -Ghostly Tours and Tales operates Saturday night on the last full weekend of each month.
