Cambria House is light, sunny and very comfortable, an inner city haven with charming ambience an a friendly atmosphere just a short drive from the golden beaches, lakes, mountains and bush of three of New Zealand's National Parks. Cambria House is a beautifully restored homestead. The old fireplaces, panelling and original doors have been combined with modern luxuries such as ensuite bathrooms for all guest bedrooms. All suites are individually decorated with tasteful furnishings, top quality beds with cotton linen, feather pillows, snug duvets and extra woollen blankets. Breakfast at Cambria House is a highlight. It can be served around our large wooden dining room table, alfresco on the deck or in the privacy of your room. Every effort is made to use local produce and our breakfast menu also reflects the seasons and the produce available at that time. Our comfortable guest living room opens onto sun-filled decks, private courtyard and secluded gardens – ideal for relaxing and perhaps with a glass of wine. Our garden has always been a feature of Cambria House. Many wonderful trees were planted early on and a number of these still remain. Spacious suite with king/twin beds. Large ensuite bathroom with shower and bath. Wall-mounted TV and mini-stereo. Robes, chocolates and port provided. Broadband wireless. Underfloor heating or heat pump. Rates are for 2 people. Extra children $50.00. The room caters for a maximum of 2 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 3 guests in total. | Getting There |
From Picton: Drive towards Nelson until you come to a roundabout. At this roundabout you turn left following the signs to City Centre. Turn the first left into Wainui Street, then the next right into Collingwood Street, then the first left into Cambria Street. Cambria House is the third house on the left-hand side - No 7. From the South or the airport: Follow signs to the City Centre. Following this route you will drive over the hill and down into central Nelson. You are now on Rutherford Street. Go straight through three sets of traffic lights and then when you come to the fourth set turn right into Halifax Street (you will see the Big Fresh supermarket ahead of you and on your left as you turn into Halifax Street). Continue down Halifax Street and go through one set of traffic lights and then at the second set turn left into Collingwood Street. Go over the bridge, go straight ahead at the STOP sign and then turn the next right into Cambria Street. Cambria House is the third house on the left hand side - No 7. |

| Things To Do |
The Saturday morning market is the place to meet many local artisans selling their wares, but at other times you can visit them at home! The World of Wearable Art is a must for those interested in fashion or fibre. Also internationally known, is Hoglunds Art Glass, with its beautiful displays of glass products. Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi National Parks for walking, kayaking, sailing, cruising. Wineries, breweries, bakeries, cheese, sausage and chocolate-makers. Visit the Farmers Market late on Friday afternoon. |
