| Things To Do |
Biloela is only an hour's flight from Brisbane, less than two hours' drive to Rockhampton (which is only half an hour from the Capricorn Coast), and closer to Gladstone and its nearby beaches. Lake Callide, popular for fishing and water skiing, is just a ten minute drive from Biloela, with picnic tables and barbeque facilities. A picnic lunch at Junction Park, Theodore, at the junction of Dawson River and Castle Creek; The old Butter Factory at Wowan, transformed into an historical museum; A picnic by the Dee River at Dululu, and a dip in Gullivers Waterhole. Visit Mt Scoria, the 'musical mountain', near Thangool, walk the tracks around it, take a picnic or enjoy the barbeque facilities. Experience the natural beauty of Kroombit Tops National Park, where you can view the resting place of the WWII Liberator Bomber "Beautiful Betsy". Visit the old mining town of Cracow. You may be lucky enough to encounter the ghost that lurks around the old boarding house!! |
