4 star AAA rated accommodation in the heart of Metung, a picturesque village, on the shores of the 400 square kilometre Gippsland Lakes, Australia's largest inland waterway. Metung Waters is positioned between Lake King to the west and the shores of Bancroft Bay to its east. Patterson Park is adjacent the property, with a children's play area. It is next door to the PO, just 100 metres to the village store, historic Metung Hotel and local restaurants. Art galleries, chemist, ladies resort wear & gift shops are nearby. Metung Waters has a landscaped BBQ area and solar heated pool for your enjoyment and within 50 metres is the town beach, on the shore of Lake King to the west and the Village Green and Bancroft Bay to the east. Metung Waters offers spacious and modern accommodation. There are 10 Motel rooms and 4 self-contained apartments, all with spa and private courtyard or balcony. There is ample off-street parking and you won't need your car in the village once you have arrived. A light breakfast basket can be delivered to your room after check in, to enjoy at your leisure the following morning. DVD's are available for hire and guest internet hire is also available during reception hours. |

| Getting There |
Metung Waters is centrally located, in the heart of the village, adjacent to the PO. From Melbourne it is approximately a 310 km drive to Metung; from Canberra, 420 km; and from Sydney it is a 670 km drive (via Canberra). Metung is situated on the Gippsland Lakes, between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance, just 11 km off the Princes Highway (turn off at Swan Reach, just near the bridge). |

| Things To Do |
Metung is wll known for boating. You can indulge in a skippered cruise or sail, or hire a day boat to explore the water yourself. You may simply sit back on the board walk and read a book or catch a fish in Bancroft Bay, or fish in one of the nearby rivers. Town beach, on the edge of Lake King, is ideal for young families and the golf course at Kings Cove is just a short drive away for the golf enthusiast. There are tennis courts in the village for hire. A little further afield visit the shops & galleries at Nungurner & Bruthen and the 90 mile beach at Lakes Entrance. You could take a drive to Paynesville and see the silt Jetties or take the ferry to Raymond Island to see the koalas. There are also wineries in the area to visit. At the end of the day you can sit on the water's edge at the historic Metung hotel and watch dolphins play in Bancroft Bay, where you can also view the pelicans being fed daily at midday. If you happend to be in Metung on the 2nd Saturday of the month, the Metung Farmers' Market on the Village Green must not be missed. |
