Located in Avon Terrace which is York's main street Kookaburras Accommodation is in easy walking distance to shopping and supermarket as well as most attractions, hotels and restaurants. We welcome guests to come and join us in our lovingly refurbished 1884 stone building where we proudly offer you choice by catering to most requirements. Choices are made from our very large share Dormitory or four different private room configurations consisting of one Twin Room, one Double Room, one Family Room and one Queen Room with an extra roll out. Our timber purpose built beds have been designed especially with guests needs in mind and character furnishings make this experience memorable. Surrounded by relaxing gardens and outdoor sitting areas filled with historic artefacts our Multi Tourism Award Winning and Nationally Accredited facility offers the opportunity to experience a truly unique familiarisation of an era passed while also enjoying spotlessly clean modern facilities which are equally suited to all travellers singles, couples, families or group functions for up to 30 guests at one time. Included in all tariffs is all bed linen and a hearty full continental breakfast with farm fresh eggs with choices in cereals, fresh fruit, juices, plunger coffee and pot tea for guests to indulge in each morning. | Getting There |
Western Australia's oldest inland town is situated less than a one hour drive from Midland and about 90 minutes from the Perth CBD. Follow the highway towards Northam up Greenmount hill through Mundaring and Sawyers Valley. Signs to York and right hand turn at the BP Lakes Roadhouse puts you on the Perth/York Road and brings you straight into the main street of town. Turn right at the Gull garage and follow it down past the Town Hall on your left and through the town to the other end of the street. Kookaburras is located at 152 Avon Terrace York - Main Street Northern end, we are the last 2 story building on your right hand side. Bus pick up is available by arrangement if required. |
| Parking |
Off-street parking is provided at the rear of our building. Access can be attained via the rear drive way only which is located in Lowe Street opposite the Avon Park playground area at the river. Come in this driveway and either nose or reverse your vehicle up against the fence on the right of the property allowing room for other vehicles. |
| Things To Do |
Kookaburra’s offers a comprehensive information service on self drive tours, walk tours, quiz activities and can make all necessary bookings for skydiving, hot air ballooning, and ultra light trial flights while in the valley. In addition we also offer a vehicle or bus and a guide if required for any of the self drive routes and are hosts for The Avon Valley scenic wine tour which is available Thursday, Friday & Saturday's for groups of four or more. |
