Arden Street Bed and Breakfast / Homestay offers guests a truly unique and kiwi homely experience. If you want to get away from the sterile motel rooms and experience a real kiwi home which is homely with lots of hospitality and quirky décor then Arden St House is the place to stay. Central location, close to Botanical gardens, University of Otago, Knox College, city centre, Community Hospice. Comfortable quiet and warm 1930s character B&B homestay. Good parking. Built by a sea captain with some lovely stained glass windows, which depict sea themes. Interesting, arty and quirky décor There are themed bedrooms - (Art Deco and Leopard/African themes). Excellent beds/bedding, TV, heater, electric blankets, hairdryers. Modern bathrooms and ensuite. Guests piano. Wake each morning to the sound of birdsong, lovely garden. Your host Joyce, hosts social dinners – a great way to ‘meet the locals’ using produce from her organic garden. |

| Getting There |
Directions - from the south - take the one way system all the way through town following the Tamara signs past the museum, till you see the North East Valley sign. You immediately come to a stop sign go straight thru you immediately reach traffic lights go straight through traffic lights onto North Rd, 1 km along on right is Gendinning Rd turn first right go up Glendining Ave to Arden St turn left. There are only 3 houses on Arden St we are the only 2 story white house. From the North. Come down state highway 1 into Dunedin. At the bottom of the hill on the left you will see the George St sign DON’T take this; but 100 metres further on left is the North East Valley sign take this (a free turn corner) you will immediately reach traffic lights go straight through traffic lights onto North Rd, 1 km along on right is Gendinning Rd turn first right go up Glendining Ave to Arden St turn left. There are only 3 houses on Arden St we are the only 2 storey white house. |

10 minutes walk to 2 excellent restuarants and bars. 2 minutes walk to Botanic Gardens. 15 minutes walk to University of Otago. Dunedin attractions Albatross colony, Botanic Gardens, Otago Peninsula, Yellow eyed penguins, wonderful wildife, Cadburys chocolate factory, Speights Brewery, Taire Gorge Train, Olveston Stately home. Chinese Garden. Lovely Victorian buildings. |
