The beautiful city of Suzhou is located on the southern tip of Jiangsu Province and is full of things to see and do. It has been named as one of China's top 24 historical and cultural cities and its classic gardens are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the saying goes, 'Gardens to the south of Yangtze River are the best in the world, and Suzhou gardens are the best among them'. Suzhou is not only a famous cultural city and a city of gardens, but also the silk capital of China. In fact, a visit to the Suzhou Silk Museum is like entering another world. In addition to silk, Suzhou is famous for performing arts, Kunqu Opera, steel carving, calligraphy and painting. Tiger Hill is one of the most renowned tourist destinations in Suzhou. Standing 30 metres high, this tourist attraction site comprises nearly a dozen of historic and cultural relics to see, including the Yunyan Pagoda, the Sword-testing Stone and the Sword Pond. |
