A number of rooms have balconies that look out over the Clarence River. The property is on nine acres overlooking the Clarence River and flood plain paddocks. Moo's restaurant, also ground floor, offers relaxed al la carte dining while watching the sunset over the distant mountains. A short 2 kilometre's from the Grafton City Centre. The Grafton Cup in July and the Jacaranda Festival in Oct/Nov is just a couple of the many attractions in Grafton. There are a variety of museums and art galleries in the area with the annual Artsfest attracting many budding artists in October. The property has an eighteen metre pool and hot spa and there is plenty of room to wander around and watch native wildlife such as kangaroos who gather every afternoon at the bottom paddock. | Things To Do |
Grafton is the first City in the northern rivers area and as such has many historical buildings. There are museums and art galleries. Ten minutes north of the Jacaranda Motor Lodge is the historical river port of Ulmarra with its antique shops and cafes. The mighty Clarence River runs through the town separating Grafton and South Grafton. The 'bendy bridge' built in 1937 carries rail below and vehicular traffic above and is unique in Australia. In October/November the famous Jacaranda festival takes place and the spectacular jacaranda tree's are in full bloom. The July Grafton Cup is the biggest provincial race meeting in the country and many people have been coming back to Grafton for the big race for years. There are many scenic drives and you can still take a vehicle punt across the Clarence River at Ulmarra and Lawrence. Almost all sports are catered for in the Grafton area with strong cricket, football (all codes) rowing, sailing, swimming and hockey just to name a few. The Captain of the Australian men's hockey side Brett Livermore is a Graftonian and thousands play the game during the winter months. There are all the indoor sports such as basketball, squash and volleyball catered for as well as skate parks and bike tracks. A short distance away is Wooli and Minnie Waters with there pristine river and beach area's. There is also Yamba, forty minutes away where you can sit at the Pacific Hotel and over look the beach where dolphins visit almost every day. |
