Tairoa Lodge was purpose built in a tranquil rural setting with great views of Mt Ruapehu. We aim to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable when away from home. Warm cosy beds, open fire in lounge, yummy breakfasts and our outdoor spa help to ensure an enjoyable stay. Tairoa Lodge provides high quality, spacious accommodation in a tranquil setting alongside the Mangawhero River with great views of Mt Ruapehu. Just 5 minutes drive from Ohakune township, Tairoa Lodge is ideally situated to enjoy all the activities this wonderful area has to offer. From skiing and snowboarding in the winter, to hiking, tramping, mountain bike riding, golfing, fishing and hunting, Tairoa Lodge has something for everyone no matter what time of year you choose to stay. For a relaxing holiday or an action packed stay, Tairoa Lodge provides all your needs. Our tarrif includes a great breakfast to set you up for the day. Packed lunches can be organized and when you arrive home after your busy day, soak in the outdoor spa while watching the sun set on the mountain or relax in front of the fire while we prepare your evening meal. Alternatively you can take the short drive to town and try out one of the many restaurants that are on offer there. All rooms have either ensuite or private bathroom, quality linen, underfloor heating and electric blankets all to keep you snug and warm. A selection of personal products are available, spa robes provided, sky TV, 200DVD and CD player in lounge along with a selection of games and books to while away the colder evenings. | Getting There |
From SH 1 take the Ohakune turn off from Waiouru. When you come into Ohakune, you will see the BP serivice station on your left. Turn left at that corner and travel 5kms until you cross a small bridge over the Mangawhero River. Just after that bridge our road (Mangawhero River Road) is on your right. Travel 1.4kms down Mangawhero River Road until you see Tairoa Lodge on your right. There are 2 brick columns at the entrance. |
