Le Méridien Tahiti, 5***** hotel, is located along a white sandy beach in the Punaauia region, on the North West coast of Tahiti. The resort lies just 15 minutes from Tahiti's capital city of Papeete and 10 minutes from the international airport. Next door to Le Meridien Tahiti lies a small commercial centre known as Tamanu Iti. Shops, a supermarket, hair salon, bakery, post office, restaurants, and more are available here. Popular with locals, it offers an interesting view of local Tahitian daily life, as well as being a useful place for dining and purchasing daily necessities. Accomodation With a total of 138 rooms and suites all with a panoramic view overlooking the ocean, the gardens, the lagoon and the sister island of Moorea, Le Meridien Tahiti has also 12 overwater bungalows which will allow to sea lovers to enjoy the blue of the lagoon. The rooms blend Polynesian furnishing, an emphasis on natural materials and local designs with modern amenities like cable TV, in room safe, mini-bar, coffee makers, phones and air conditioning. Rooms are equipped with 1 King Size / 1 Queen Size or 2 Double Beds all with spacious balcony overlooking the lagoon. All rooms and public areas offer WIFI (wireless Internet connection). 3 rooms are equipped for disabled persons. You may note that the 12 bungalows have recently been renewed. The interior decoration has been changed and highlights nice and refined colours with modern touches and equipment (flat screen, DVD player…). The bungalows have a spacious deck for whiling away the hours over the lagoon Restaurant and Bars La Plantation – This restaurant proposes open-air dining by carp-filled pool overlooking gardens. You will find French and Polynesian specialties as well as an international cuisine. We propose buffet breakfast and à la carte lunch and dinner and also buffet lunches on weekends. Several times a week, the hotel proposes theme nights and Tahitian dance shows but also live entertainment on weekends. The restaurant is opened daily for breakfast and daily for dinner. L'Astrolabe – This is a mezzanine level bar overlooking La Plantation and gardens. You can have a drink, beer, wine, spirits, or even cocktails. You will find an informal, with red-cushioned seats and candlelit ambience. The bar opens mid-afternoon until late. Le Carré - À la carte restaurant serving French cuisine, the restaurant proposes a large wine selection and for instance the Dégustation (sampling) menu. Located on beach, with views over lagoon and sunset, its Asian influences in décor, such as Buddha statues is ideal to enjoy a romantic or just relaxing time. It is opened daily for lunch and dinner. Pool Bar - The pool bar serves snacks, hamburgers, and sandwiches. Thatched hut with bar seating and alfresco poolside seating under coconut trees are available. It opens mid-morning until late, with full menu at lunchtime only. Amenities In order to satisfy our guest, Le Meridien Tahiti offers a large choice of activities and quality services. You will admire the biggest sandy bottom swimming pool of all the south pacific, relax on the white sand beach or enjoy the most of our activities (tennis court, snorkelling equipments, kayaking, beach volley, table tennis…all available for free). Furthermore, there is a vibrant international arts scene taking root in the South Pacific at Le Méridien Tahiti. It’s L’Atelier, a new onsite artists space set to feature contemporary artists from across the islands and around the world. Recently launched by the luxurious seaside resort, L’Atelier reflects Le Méridien’s passion for supporting local culture while offering guests a unique and rewarding interactive experience with the creative personalities behind striking works of art.
