Villa & Palazzo Aminta is set in a haven of peace, facing the Lake Maggiore and immersed in azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons and centuries old trees. Situated in the town of Stresa, on the panoramic coastal road that goes to Switzerland, on the Piemontese side of the Lago Maggiore, the hotel offers easy access to the areas of natural beauty that surround the property. Palazzo Aminta Beauty & SPA is available for beauty and body treatments and in 2009 we will inaugurate the “grotta” with Thermarium/turkish bath, ice waterfall, Aromarium, sensory and Scottish showers with alternation of hot/cold water, whirpool with geyser jets and relax area. |

By Car: From Simplon Pass Switzerland: - Take the SS 33, which becomes the A26 Highway A26. - Exit at Baveno-Stresa. From San Bernardino-Bellinzona-Locarno Switzerland: - Follow the main road, keeping the lake on your left-hand side at all times. - Join the SS 34 at Stresa. - Join the SS 33 at Verbania. - Follow directions to Milan. - From Milan, take the A8 in the direction of the lakes (Laghi - Sesto Calende). - Join the A26 in the direction of Gravellona Toce. Then either: - Exit at Arona. - Join the SS 33 up to Stresa for about 18 Km, keeping the lake on your right-hand side. Or: - Exit at Carpugnino (forbidden to buses) where you'll find a narrow road going down to Stresa (5 Km) with a wonderful panoramic view. - Exit at Baveno-Stresa, where the road will immediately reach the lakeside: you will need to drive back to Stresa for about 5 km, with the lake on your left-hand side. Driving distances and times: Firenze: 390km. Milan: 80km Roma: 650km Torino: 135km Venezia: 350km Verbania: 15km Locarno, Switzerland 45km By air: The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa. From the airport you can reach Stresa by car, bus, train or the Alibus - the new shuttle bus service direct from the airport to Lake Maggiore. If you prefer renting a car, go from the airport to highway A8 and then follow the above directions. Milano Linate National Airport: 110km Milano Malpensa International Airport: 45km Turin Airport: 150km By Train: Most of the frequent trains on the Milan-Domodossola line stop at Stresa. There are daily trains to and from Milan, Turin, Venice and, through the Simplon Pass to and from Bruxelles, Geneva and Basel are direct to and from Stresa. The length of a train trip to and from Milan is between 50 minutes (Intercity) and 80 minutes (local trains). |

Nearby attractions include a zoo, which is 1.5 kilometres away, and the Alpinia Botanical Gardens, which are within 10 kilometres. The Centovalli Mountain Railway which connects to Switzerland, is 35 kilometres away. A car is recommended during your stay. You can also hire a bike at an additional cost of EUR 3 per hour, to explore the surrounding area. |
