The MANTRINI is the first and only boutique city resort with its perfect central location as a base to see all attractions in and around Chiang Rai. While it is a boutique hotel with modern decor, lushes of trees and flowers as well as swimming pool in the center of the hotel perfectly provide the most relaxing atmosphere for guests in the hotel. - Location : The MANTRINI is located on the A2 road (roads from Bangkok to Chiang Rai)close to the town center just 1.5 km from Night Bazaar and bus stataion. Other important sites close by are : 8 km. from Chiang Rai airport / 0.5 km from shopping mall / 1 km from brach post office / 1 km. from Sriburin hospital. - Facilities : 4 starts facilities which include 3 Suites, 28 Deluxe, and 32 Superior rooms. All rooms are furnished with 100% natural latex mattresses, laptop computer's size digital safty box, hairdryers, bathrobes, slippers, and full set of bathroom amenities. Services available are room service, laundry service, and transfer service. - Restaurant : The LAFS (Lanna Fusion) offers a wide range of selections which include Northern cuisine (unique and rich in tastes with local herb and spice as ingredients), Thai dishes, Chinese specialties, and Italian fusions. - Rai Mae Fah Luang : located about 20 minutes from The MANTRINI, Rai Mae Fah Luang is a park of trees and flowers as well as true Lanna architectures that will not be found else where. Within the park is also The Teak Museum which displays history and the use of vaious types of teaks. - Night Bazaar : About 1.5 kilometer from the hotel, shops are usually set up about 7.00 pm. The market has numerous local-made handcrafts, clothings, and ornaments for shoppers take home as souvenirs and gifts. There are also local bands (local instuments) and shows at the center of the market. - Wat Rong Khun : About 10 minutes from The Hotel, Wat Rong Khun is an old temple re-designed and re-built by one of the most famous Thai artists, Arjarn Chalermchai Kositpipat. It is also known as 'the white temple,' and has attracted many visitors from all over the country. The project has strated nearly 10 years ago, is said to last for at least another 20 years. - Doi Tung : Developed by Mae Fah Luang Foundation, founded by the late Princess Mother, Doi Tung was converted from fields of opium into flowers, arabica coffee, and maccademia plantations. The project has revived the mountains into one of the 'must' visit attraction, and revived the lives of hill-tribe people from engaging in illegal activities into working and building familites with honest and reliable income. The Pricess Mother's palace on Doi Tung is also opened for a tour. Mai Sai District : Mai Sai is the border district connecting Thailand to Myanmar's Tachilek. There are hundreds of shops on both Mai Sai and Tachilek sides. There are also a ride available in Tachilek for the city tour. Chiang Sean District : Famous for the name 'Golden Triagle,' Chiang Sean was once the capital of Yonok kingdom, the period before the rise of Lanna. The district have many old pagodas and temples worth a lifetime to visit. Opium Hall : Located in Chiang Sean district, Opium Hall (established and managed by Mae Fah Luang Foundation) is one of Asia best museum which displays (with the use of technology in preserntation) the history, development, and consequences of opium in the Mea Khong area. The entrance of the opium hall is a 137 meter tunnel leading visitors to the main area. |
