The Alpha Motel is a three 1/2 star motel typical of the style constructed in the 80’s. Orange brick, tiled roof, low set bungalow on sprawling grounds amongst the beautiful trees of New England. Just 5 minutes walk from the town centre on the New England Highway. The rooms are set back enough from the main road that you get a quiet peaceful sleep as well as having the convenience of shopping close by. All the rooms have fresh airy atmosphere due to well designed, naturally controlled ventilation and lighting as well as outdoor seating to soak up the sun. Home cooked meals and breakfast is delivered to your room if required, at a very reasonable rate. There is also a free continental breakfast for every guest booked. There is a BBQ area next to the swimming pool which is available in the summer months and in the winter if you can stand it! For those that like to relax outside their rooms and soak up a bit of nature or for the kiddies to stretch their legs, there is one acre of secure parkland with seating under trees, ideal for kicking back with a good book or magazine. High speed wireless internet is available in all rooms for those with laptops and a computer/printer is available at a separate desk in the front office for those without a computer. By Car: Coming from the North we are at the second roundabout on the New England Highway. Coming from the South we are the first roundabout on the New England Highway. By Bus: We are only a five minute leisurely stroll from the local interstate bus depot which is at the local Tourist Information Centre. Local Taxi service, Interstate Bus connection at the Tourist information centre. |

- GLEN INNES is Celtic Country which has distinctive seasons so unlike so much of the rest of Australia, naturally air conditioned Summers, log fire winters, with occasional snow, Golden Autumns and dazzling Springs. It is at an elevation of 1064m above sea level in the New England table lands of New South Wales and is strategically located at the Intersection of the New England and Gwydir Highways. - FESTIVALS: There are year round festivals, events like the mineral/gem show Minerama, Land of the Beardies Festival celebrating local history, the annual Celtic Festival which attracts visitors from around the world, as well as wide ranging country events. - FISHING: Murray Cod, Rainbow Trout, Red fin and other species abound in the local creeks of Beardy Waters, Furracabad, Upper Severn and Wellingrove. - CENTRE: Glen Innes is the centre of fine wool, lamb and beef production with the picturesque rural villages of Emmerville and Deepwater nearby. - GOLF: One of the best in NSW! - NATIONAL PARKS AND BIRD WATCHING: Glenn Innes is the stepping off point for the World Heritage National Parks of Washpool, Gibralter Range, Torrington, Kings Plains, Mann River Reserve, Guy Fawkes River National Park, Llangothlin Nature Reserve. There are many walking tracks through these parks ranging from easy to medium and hard and you will see plenty of birds and other wildlife. - WINE & FINE FOODS: There are a number of local restaurants and wineries to take in on your visit - FOSSICKING: Glen Innes is internationally famous for the deep rich royal blue sapphire, it's part of the most prolific sapphire region in NSW and has the World’s richest mineral diversity belt. You can hire equipment and go guided field tours. All this is arranged at our very efficient local Tourist information Centre.
