Welcome to the Armour Motor Inn. Situated right in the heart of Beechworth, our twenty suite 3.5 star comfortable motel is at the pretty Lake Sambell end of Camp Street. As the name suggests, "The Armour" has a rich history from the Ned Kelly days and we are right next door to Beechworth's historic Hotel Nicholas recently refurbished operating daily with meals. Only 100 metres to the award winning tourist attractions of the Beechworth Bakery and Beechworth Sweet Company. For walkers and cycling enthusiasts, we are next to Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and gateway to the wonderful local and regional attractions in Victoria's alpine, winegrowing and North East Valleys areas. We offer packages and comprehensive information on attractions and outings to this beautiful part of North East Victoria. Our motel caters for the individual, couples, families, special interest groups and tours. We offer twenty well appointed motel suites on two levels that can sleep 62 guests comprising queen rooms and family /double suites. All rooms are tastefully decorated and have a pleasant outlook onto front or rear gardens and the township. One family suite has disabled facilities with full wheelchair access and grab rails in the shower and toilet. This ground floor Suite is easily accessible to Camp Street and footpaths and the property has direct access into the Hotel Nicholas. Other facilities include, solar heated in-ground swimming pool, sauna room with hot shower accessed from pool area. Large car parking area at rear of motel with some pushbike storage. If you want to relax and unwind, massage and pamper packages, food hampers and a range of restaurant-cafe-winery experiences are on offer and very close to your accommodation. We are easy to find at the Southern end of Camp Street, next door to the Hotel Nicholas and two blocks down from the Post Office which is on the intersection of the township's two main streets - Camp and Ford streets. If coming from Melbourne turn right at this intersection. If coming from Albury/Wodonga turn left at this intersection. Travelling to Beechworth - Beechworth is located in North East Victoria, in the south eastern part of Australia. If coming via the Hume freeway Beechworth is : 3 hours drive north of Melbourne. : 4.5 hours drive south of Canberra : 7 hours from Sydney : 30 mins to nearby rural townships of Wangaratta and Albury/wodonga on the Murray River and Rutherglen vineyards. Regular Melbourne to Sydney train and coach services operate through these towns, with connecting buses to Beechworth regular domestic flights operate from Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra into Albury airport and hire cars are available. |
