Astro Motel Taupo is a new concept of compact accommodation, offering a wide range of 20 affordable rooms/units in new clean facilities ranging from self-contained units sleeping 2-4, twin and single studios and two 6 beds dorm rooms with own bathroom. Whether you’re a family or a single budget-minded traveller, business person or backpacker, we have the right accommodation with value pricing and comfort to suit your needs. All rooms (except dorm rooms) offer complimentary tea and coffee plus a microwave, toaster and electric jug, plates and cutlery, Sky TV and air-condition/heater. A large fully equipped communal kitchen is available on the ground floor. We are situated close to beautiful Lake Taupo, with an easy walk to the shopping centre, restaurants and cafes, close proximity to the wide variety of Taupo adventure activities, hot pools, sporting parks, and just 10 mins from Taupo Motor Sport Park. After a full day seeing the sights, soak in the guest spa and sauna. Cook up a storm in the large fully equipped kitchen area with a Plasma TV, or spend time checking your emails or downloading your photos using wireless internet or using our internet kiosk. Plenty of safe off street parking. |

| Getting There |
If travelling from the south, you will turn right in Kaimanawa Street off the lake front road just a little way before you get to Mac Donalds. (The fire station is on the corner) Coming from the North head through the main township road, Tongariro Street, towards the lake front, as you go along the lake front turn left into Kaimanawa Street (You will see the fire station on the corner). Alternatively as you come into Taupo there is a round about. Via left into Spa Road. Kaimanawa Street is the 6th street on your right. If coming to Taupo by bus from the bus station, turn left at the corner (Heu Heu Street )until you come to Kaimanawa Street and turn left. We are approx 1.5 k's from the bus station. |

| Things To Do |
Taupo offers a huge range of activities for all ages whether it be something with an adrenalin rush like Bungy jumping, Sky diving, Jet boating, quad bikes and more, to soaking in the hot pools, cruising on the lake for dinner or a river cruise. Trout fishing is a must for keen fisherman. For golfers we have 3 golf courses. We are happy to book any of these for you. Leisure time, can be spent taking a stroll on the lake front, visiting the thermal walk at Wairakei or Craters of the Moon, Lava Glass or a beautiful scenic flight on a float plane. And then there's the shopping. If you are a keen motor racing fan Taupo now has an international track featuring world class motor racing. |
