WAVES AND WILDLIFE IN BRIEF

Safe beach, wilderness and boat ramp at your doorstep.

Spoil yourself in our brand new self-contained three and one bedroom seaside cottages each with ocean views, surrounded by guaranteed wildlife.

A mob of about 100 kangaroos graze around the Cottages every evening. Other wildlife on the property and immediate surrounds include wallabies, echidnas, koalas, goannas to name a few.

The neighbouring Lathami Conservation park is a breeding ground for the Glossy Black Cockatoo.

Set on 80 acres bordering one of Kangaroo Islands most beautiful beaches, directly behind the cliffs of Stokes Bay beach with no roads in between.

You can enjoy swimming in the safe rock pool, surf or body surf in the waves or sun bathe all on one beautiful white sandy beach in front of you. Experience the fishing either off the beach or use the boat ramp to launch into the deep waters to go for the big ones or local crayfish.

Feel yourself amongst the wild guaranteed abundant kangaroos and wallabies every dusk and morning and occasional dolphin pods, wedge tail eagles, glossy black cockatoos, koalas, goannas, echidnas and more.

Simply relax in the cottages or take advantage of the spacious balcony each cottage has and enjoy the serenity, sunsets, sunrises and ocean breezes. Base yourself comfortably as this is a very central location to all other attractions on the island.

YOUR ACCOMODATION

Each cottage is fully self contained and features brand new kitchen, dining rooms and balcony have sea views and views over the wetland. Large Cottages have three bedrooms which sleep 6 comfortably. Small Cottages have one bedroom bathroom and toilet, gas heating, open plan living incorporating the front spacious decking which is complete with outdoor settings.
Kitchen with fridge, oven, hotplate, microwave, crockery, pots and pans etc. TV, DVD/CD, video, radio and selection of DVD's, books and games. Free Satellite TV (Aurora), decorated throughout with new and modern furniture, telephone, BBQ, ceiling fans.

Linen and towels are provided (except beach towels) at a cost of $10 per person per stay.

Much of the property remains natural bush land which is home to large mobs of the Kangaroo Island Kangaroo which graze around the cottages every evening.

Check In Instructions Key is usually left in the door of Cottage by 2pm. We will let you know which Cottage by putting a note in the office or calling you. If concerned, please ring anytime. If checking in after dark please advise for directions and lights left on.

Getting There The best way to see Kangaroo Island is either with your own car or a plane then a hired car.

BY ROAD
From Adelaide it takes you approximately 1 hour to drive to Cape Jervois, there you will need to catch a Sealink ferry to Penneshaw. The Ferry takes approximately 45 minutes (look out for dolphins playing in the wake of the ferry). From Penneshaw you will need to drive West and follow signs to Parndana and then to Stokes Bay which takes approximately another hour.

BY AIR
From Adelaide you will need to catch a plane with REX. Trips take about 35 minutes and planes land in Kingscote. There you will need to hire a car. From the Kingscote airport it will take you about 40 minutes following signs to Stokes Bay.
Parking Each Cottage has it's own driveway with it's own car park. There is enough room for 3. Additional room is available for a boat or trailer.
Things To Do SURROUNDING WAVES AND WILDLIFE (walking distance)

- Stokes Bay Beach
Bordering Waves and Wildlife is one of South Australia's best beaches - Stokes Bay beach. This beach is accessed through a rock tunnel. Once you stroll onto this beach you will find immediately a natural rock pool which is safe swimming for children of all ages. The ocean next to the rockpool is ideal for surfing, body surfing and fishing.

There is a Cafe at the beach as well as a restaurant about 500 meters away overlooking the Bay.

Stokes Bay is also home to Paul's Place Wildlife Sanctuary, the Stokes Bay Bushgarden and the Rare Breeds farm.

Lathami National Park
The neighbouring Lathami National Park is a breeding ground for the rare Glossy Black Cockatoo.
