Located only 110km (90 minutes) drive north of Cairns. Only 50km (40 minutes) north of Port Douglas, gateway to the reef. 3 kms south of Daintree Village. Only lodge on the Daintree River. Sealed road runs to property - no 4WD required. South of the Daintree River - no ferry crossing. The Cook highway from Cairns offers a feast of scenery ranging from secluded palm fringed beaches, hidden coves and rugged headlands, the rich green of lush sugar-cane fields, through to the mist shrouded rainforest clad mountains. Rated as one of Australia's best scenic drives. Follow the highway north from Cairns past the Port Douglas turnoff, and follow the signs to Daintree. No turn-offs or ferry crossings are required. |

Guests can also choose from tailor made tours including dawn and dusk river cruises, Aboriginal cultural tours and experiences, day trips for snorkeling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef as well as an array of birdwatching, fishing, bush walks, horseriding and thrilling 4WD safaris. Cruise the majestic Daintree River, experience the ambiance as dusk settles and you witness the transition from day-time to nocturnal habitat. Watch the entire environment change, the effect is inspiring, ancient, exciting, and yet peaceful. Bird Watchers Paradise The Daintree Rainforest contains 430 species of birds (over half the bird population of Australia). Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is renowned locally as the "Jewel of the Rainforest" for birdwatching. 135 species have been recorded in the boundaries of Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa (that's one eighth of Australia's total species!)… we invite you to add any new sightings. The region is a birdwatchers paradise. The Daintree Valley contains 225 recorded species. On an early morning birdwatching cruise on the Daintree River, view up to 50 species of birds in a single cruise including the rare Pacific Swallow, Great Billed Heron, Black Bittern, Little Tern and Beach Stone Curlew. Half and full day birdwatching safaris throughout the Daintree and adjacent regions. Fishing Haven Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is the only resort adjacent to the majestic Daintree River. In the river itself, 200 species of fish and 70 species of crustaceans have been recorded, including the legendary Barramundi. The Lodge is only minutes drive from pristine coral sand beaches and within easy access to the Reef for personalised fishing excursions.
