BY AIRPLANE: Padua is just a stroll away from Venice (30 minutes) and personalized pick-ups at the Airport Marco Polo Venice can be done on request with the greatest of ease. Air Service provides a collective pick up if booked with 48 hours in advance. Public busses run regularly to/from Venice Airport. For detailed information and time schedules call our concierge desk. BY CAR: from highway A4 exit Padova Est and follow the indications to the Hotel. Padua is one of the most important cultural and commercial centre of Veneto: “the Fair Padua, nursery of arts” as W. Shakespeare said, has 3000 years of history. Birthplace of Paleo-Venetian civilization, one of the most important cities of Roman Empire and a Free City-State in the 12th century. It was the melting pot of an extraordinary economic, cultural and religious fervour that lefts marks that are still indelible today like the University, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Basilica del Santo and the first boundary wall. Giotto, Donatello, Mantegna, Menabuoi and Titian left absolute masterpieces in Padua. The University founded in 1222, famous for anatomy and medicine, had the great adventure in astronomy, physics and mathematics with Galileo Galilei. The provincial area encloses a wide naturalistic, artistic, archaeological and cultural patrimony.
