Brent and Claire Smith welcome guests to Historic Hambledon [circa 1856], a large mansion built on a grand scale very centrally located to enjoy all that Christchurch has to offer. Historic Hambledon is a unique heritage property with splendid wood paneling, a grand staircase, family antiques and collectables. Guests can, once again, combine the gracious living and ambience of a bygone era, in a grand family home, that resonates with warmth and character. Guests are also invited to stroll and relax in the cottage gardens. Our Suites are all very spacious with high quality linens, bathrobes, and ensuite facilities complimented with in room refrigerators, television, video players, fresh coffee and tea making facilities, telephone and wireless broadband internet. Tariff includes a delicious breakfast in the magnificent dining room with the Victorian Lancaster Sideboard, antique tables and chairs and New Zealand art. The wonderful breakfast consists of orange juice, fresh fruit salad, fruit compote, yoghurt, a selection of cereals, freshly baked croissants or muffins, toast, preserves, a cooked special of the day and tea or coffee. Later relax with the paper in the guest lounge with its bay window, the conservatory or on the wisteria-clad verandah. Enjoy the tranquil old cottage gardens with the brick paths, box hedges and shady trees. Or stroll to Hagley Park (5 minutes), the Arts Centre, Museum, City shops, Casino and Cathedral Square are all within a 10 minute walk. There are more than 15 Bars and Restaurants within 10 minutes walk also. We have ample off-street parking. Laundry and dry cleaning can be arranged. There is a non-smoking policy in all rooms. It will be our pleasure to ensure your stay at Hambledon is memorable. |

Master Suite is a very large suite with a Victorian king size four poster bed plus single bed. It is a very sunny room with its own dressing room and ensuite bathroom. Includes wonderful breakfast served from 8.15 on. Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $50.00. Extra children $50.00. The room caters for a maximum of 3 adults, and a maximum of 2 children but cannot exceed 3 guests in total. The following bedding is provided:

Includes wonderful breakfast served from 8.15am on. Guests' visitors by prior arrangement only. Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $50.00. Extra children $50.00. | Getting There |
Historic Hambledon is very easy to find. We are at 103 Bealey Avenue on the corner of Bealey Ave and Springfield Road. If you are driving you will hopefully have a map. Look at the very North East (thats the top right) corner of Hagley Park and you will see Bealey Avenue heading off to the East (right). If you have come through the Park you will cross over a bridge as you exit the Park - this is the start of Bealey Avenue. Continue along Bealey Avenue for approximately 350 metres. Look on the left for a brick wall before you get to Springfield Road - our entry is half way along the wall - you will see our big three story house. Park under the carriageway, ring the door bell and you have arrived! |
