We have 26 well appointed ground floor rooms open into the scenic garden with pool. Our popular Austrian Restaurant takes you on a culinary journey of Gippsland’s Food & Wine scene, a “Taste of Gippsland. Located in Sale, the Victorian leg of the Sydney Melbourne Coastal Drive as well as the junction of South Gippsland and Princes Hwy, Captains Lodge International is the ideal venue to explore this spectacular region. Established in 1985 Captains Lodge International is set amidst 3½ acres landscaped garden with swimming pool and a charming barbeque area. The comfortable well appointed rooms have direct access to garden and pool. Watch our rainbow lorikeets feed and play, enjoy a spectacular sunset or just relax and enjoy the space and tranquillity of our garden. Even though we are a Motel, the feeling is more that of a B&B with very personal service and a friendly family atmosphere – some Austrian Gemütlichkeit & hospitality! | Things To Do |
The township of Sale was founded in the 1840's during the Gold rush and houses many beautiful old buildings as well as the historic swing bridge which has recently been restored and is opened several times a week. There is the Gippsland Art Gallery with works of the famous Textile Artist Annemieke Mein as well as other local artists, the Armed Forces museum and the old vehicle museum in Maffra, the Port of Sale, as well as a range of wineries, where one can sample the excellent local wines. Sale is a perfect location to explore the stunning beauty and diversity of Gippsland, its pristine coastal environment, the lush rolling hills, the white sandy 90 mile beach, the beautiful Gippsland Lakes, it’s National Parks with their fascinating Flora and Fauna and the spectacular High Country, the Sale Wetlands and much more. |
