Rydges Southbank Hotel Reception is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Opened in October 2006, the BRAND NEW Rydges Southbank Serviced Apartments are conveniently located in Townsville’s city centre, only 7 km from the airport and within walking distance to popular tourist attractions, the central business district and Palmer Street restaurant precinct. All twelve apartments offer fully self contained facilities including full size refrigerator, cook top, oven, microwave and dishwasher. All apartments offer two bedrooms, two bathrooms (ensuite has corner spa) and large balconies. Each apartment is fully airconditioned with split systems and has an internal laundry with washing machine and dryer. The open plan living area has a 68cm television and DVD player and the master bedroom has a second 51cm television. Apartments are serviced daily and there is a swimming pool onsite. Apartment guests are able to dine and charge breakfast and dinner from the award winning Southbank Grill (located on the ground floor of the Quality Hotel Southbank) to their account. |

| Getting There |
We are located 7 km South East of the Townsville Airport. A short drive of about ten minutes, or approximately $15 by taxi. 750 metres from the coach transit centre - a 15 minute walk or approximately $6 by taxi. Townsville Train Station approximately 1.5 km from the hotel - Taxi approx $8 or a five minute drive. Rydges Hotel Southbank Reception is located on the Southside of the CBD in Palmer Street via the Denham Street Bridge. The Southbank Serviced Apartments are located about 200 metres from Rydges Southbank Hotel in McIllwraith Street. |

Located in the 'restaurant precint' of Townsville, close to CBD, shops, night clubs, heritage bars and the Magnetic Island ferry. Close to attractions such as Reef HQ (the largest living reef aquarium in the southern hemisphere), the Museum of Tropical Queensland (where relics of HMS "Pandora" which sank whilst in pursuit of the "Bounty" mutineers are displayed) and "The Strand" - a 3km stretch of beach with water park, play areas, cafes and restaurants. Townsville has teams in the National Rugby League and Men's and Women's National Basketball League - games are at the Entertainment Centre - 2km. Take a drive to Paluma National Park or to the historical gold mining town of Charters Towers. Billabong Eco Sanctuary is 18km south and is an award winning eco park. |
