Magnetic Island's Tropical Palms Inn provides comfortable accommodation in a garden setting just 100 metres from Picnic Bay Beach, hotel, restaurants, jetty and children's playground. A short walk to the Golf Club. The attractions of Magnetic Island are right on your doorstep. You can swim, soak up the sun, stroll through the park and explore the National Park. Just a short ferry ride from Townsville and you are taken to another world. The self contained, air conditioned units include a kitchenette with cooking facilities, microwave, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, television and DVD player (movies available). Facilities at Tropical Palms Inn include pool, guest laundry, gas barbecues, landscaped gardens, & car hire. The eastern side of the island has four small settlements at Horseshoe Bay, Arcadia, & Nelly Bay some 2533 ha of the central area and western side of the island are now National Park. ALL ROOMS ARE STRICTLY NON-SMOKING INSIDE. SCHOOLIES ACCOMMODATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. |

Just 8 kilometres off-shore, Magnetic Island is a short trip across the sheltered waters of Cleveland Bay. Access is by Sunferries passenger ferry, or Car/Passenger ferry from Townsville. The Picnic Bay Bus meets every ferry and will take you to the hotel door. |

Magnetic Island is a mountainous and thickly wooded island covering 49 sq kms and rising to 497m at Mount Cook. This small island is only 11 km at its widest point and there is approximately 40 km of coastline. 23 bays and beaches, over 300 days of sunshine a year. 24 kms walking tracks. Also Available at Tropical Palms Inn are 4WD's for hire to explore the islands more secluded bays. Jet ski hire, fishing boats, kayak's, tube riding and snorkeling gear for hire can be arranged at very competitive rates. |
