Port Hinchinbrook is only 195 kms north of Townsville on the mainland and close to Cardwell..only 90 minutes by car ...or approx 2 hours south of Cairns by road. Trains go daily and stop at the Cardwell Station. Buses stop in Cardwell daily. |

The complex has a 12 metre lap pool and BBQ area for guests as well as the Port Hinchinbrook Resort pool. Port Hinchinbrook is a fully integrated township with a first class marina 3 kms from Cardwell which has restaurants, grocery store, hotel and shops. Hinchinbrook Island is 40 minutes by ferry which runs daily from the Marina leaving at 9am and returns at 5pm. Hinchinbrook Island is Australia's largest island national park with an abundance of wildlife and pristine beaches. The Port Hinchinbrook area is renowned for its boating and fishing with the Hinchinbrook channel the hot spot for barra fishing and mudcrab. Day fishing trips can be arranged as well as sight-seeing the natural wilderness and croc spotting. With plenty of bushwalking and natural wildnerness to take in, it is a relaxing and tranquil lifestyle to enjoy. Tully 30 minutes north is a lush sugar growing town with tours of the sugar mill daily &, white water rafting the Tully Gorge. Ingham 30 minutes south has a strong italian culture with italian deli's and culture. Wallaman Falls is the largest single drop waterfall in Australia and is spectacular to see as is the Tyto wetlands with an abundance of bird life to enjoy. |
