The Hey Green Country House Hotel is one of the finest dining, corporate and wedding venues in the North West.

The privately-owned Hey Green is situated in the village of Marsden, on the edge of Saddleworth Moor between Oldham and Huddersfield. Nestling in several acres of woodland, this makes it the perfect setting for all types of events in the Yorkshire and Manchester areas.

Staying in one of the tastefully decorated rooms at Hey Green is an event to savour. Every room is ensuite with a bath and shower, sumptuous towels and Molton Brown toiletries. TV, radio, direct dial telephone, trouser press, hairdryer and hospitality tray are included as standard.Bathrooms have heated towel rails, complimentary shampoo, mouthwash and sewing and shoe cleaning kits. Our personal touch is enhanced by the offer of an iron and ironing board, with pre-ordered light bites available upon arrival. Almost all of the rooms have a view of the breathtaking hotel grounds.

The chefs at Hey Green have more than 20 years' experience. Our 2 AA rosette awarded menu boasts the very best in modern British cuisine, together with very special home made puddings. All ingredients are delivered daily from the best local suppliers and all food is freshly cooked to order.

We cater for vegans and those who have allergies to certain foods or ingredients. Please do give us as much notice as possible so that we may offer as much choice as we can. There are always several vegetarian options available in the restaurant..

The hotel also prides itself on a vast array of wonderful wines and digestives.

The restaurant is situated in the oldest part of the hotel with a superb flagstone floor and open fire burning throughout winter. The soothing atmosphere of warmth and tranquillity makes this a wonderful place to enjoy any meal and the a la carte menu is superb. The informal restaurant seating area caters for up to 40 people. Breakfast is served here daily and dinner is served every evening from 7pm, with last orders at 9.30pm.

The bright and sunny Conservatory means that only a door separates the grounds from the guests seated inside. This is a beautiful light and airy location, perfect for a pre-dinner drink – perhaps sat outside during the summer months, enjoying the splendid views.

The lounge bar is to the rear of the conservatory, close to the restaurant. A comprehensive range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks are always available. It's also the perfect place to relax and enjoy a post-dinner coffee.

Getting There Despite the rural location, the hotel is conveniently located for all local transport links: 17 miles from Manchester airport; 20 miles from Leeds/Bradford airport; Just 15 minutes drive from J22 of the M62 motorway; 20 minutes drive from Huddersfield and Oldham; Marsden railway station has a direct service to Leeds, Manchester and Huddersfield. There are also facilities for helicopter landings nearby.

FROM HUDDERSFIELD: Follow the signs for Oldham A62. Once on the A62 you will reach the village of Marsden, which is 6 ½ miles from Huddersfield. Drive through the village and you will see the sign for The Hey Green on the right, approximately one mile outside the village. Turn right into the drive and follow it down for about ¼ mile to the hotel entrance.

FROM HOLMFIRTH: Take the A6024 Huddersfield Road. You will see a sign to your left for Meltham and Marsden, which is the B6107. Follow this road through Meltham to Marsden, approximately 6½ miles from Holmfirth. You will go down a steep hill into Marsden to a crossroads where you must give way. This is the main A62 Oldham – Huddersfield road. Turn left towards Oldham. Drive through the village and you will see the sign for The Hey Green on the right, approximately one mile outside the village. Turn right into the drive and follow it down for about ¼ mile to the hotel entrance.

FROM OLDHAM: Follow the signs for Huddersfield A62. Once on the A62 The Hey Green is approximately 6 miles from Oldham. The sign for the hotel is on the left side of the road at the top of the drive, one mile before you reach the village of Marsden. Turn left into the drive and follow it down for about ¼ mile to the hotel entrance.

FROM M62: Leave the motorway at Junction 22 marked for Saddleworth & Oldham. Follow the road into Denshaw where there is a crossroads and the Junction public house on the right. Turn left here, but the road immediately splits into two. Take the right hand fork so that you pass Denshaw post office on your left shoulder. Follow the road through the village of Delph. You will come to a T junction. Give way, and turn left onto the A62, climbing up a hill and passing the Old Bell Inn on your left. The hotel is approximately three miles, and you will see the sign on the left at the top of the drive. Follow the drive for about ¼ mile to the hotel entrance.
Parking There is parking for 70 cars in the hotel grounds.
Things To Do The Hey Green is ideally placed for a leisure break, no matter what type of activities you prefer.

Easy access to Manchester or Leeds means you can enjoy all these thriving cities have to offer. Choose from theatre breaks, cinemas, museums, antique hunting, fantastic shopping opportunities and wonderful architecture.

Alternatively you may prefer exploring the towns and villages of Saddleworth, Oldham and West Yorkshire. Why not enjoy the Marsden Jazz Festival, the Mikron Theatre Company productions, Saddleworth Band Contest and Beer Walk? Learn about the works of local poets such as Simon Armitage and artists such as Des Wilson. General Wolf of Quebec's mother was born in Marsden, also known by locals as Bellas Town. Find out about the Cuckoo Day, Pagan Festival and Rush Cart event.

The area is popular with outdoor film crews: “Where The Heart Is” is regularly filmed in the surrounding villages and at the hotel itself; “Last Of The Summer Wine” country is just around the corner. Indeed, cast and crew regularly stay at the hotel.

But you can enjoy a quieter time too. Hey Green is close to Marsden Moor, a National Trust estate. This is a haven for walkers with many guided walks and events organised throughout the year, suitable for all fitness levels. You could also take a trip to Bronte Country or the Peak District.
