With 38 ground floor rooms, the property is set on spacious grounds with gum trees and prolific bird life. The pool is in the central courtyard. Property is ideally located 1km south of the Information Centre and close to town. All rooms have heating and cooling, electric blankets on all beds, tea and coffee making facilties, irons & ironing boards and TV (Austar in selected rooms). Sorry No Pets An easy drive to Australia's largest telescope at Mt Siding Observatory and also the wonders of the Warrumbungle National Park. |

The Matthew Flinders Motor Inn is located at the southern end of Coonabarabran, 1km south of the information centre. If you are driving from the north, drive straight through the town centre and continue on for 1.5kms, we are on the left with a bright red sign. If you are driving from the south, we are located just as you come into Coonabarabran, on the right hand side of the road. |

| Things To Do |
There are plenty of things to do including visit Australia's largest telescope at Mt Siding Observatory, explore the wonders of the Warrumbungle National Park, many walks and photo opportunities, take a tour of Newcastle Hats (we are happy to arrange this for you), see hats, hats and more hats being made in front of you, take a night time visit to the Sky Watch Observatory and gaze at the universe, right here in Coonabarabran! Other activities include a visit to the Crystal Kingdom, learn about the geology of the area, visit the wonderful Hickey Falls, laze by the pool at the motel and relax before heading off, enjoy a game of golf, enjoy a game of bowls and wander through the town of Coonabarabran and enjoy the shops and cafe's, make sure you pick up some astronomy souveniers! |
