Tauhara Sunrise offers three suites, each with fabulous lake views. Chalet d’Amour, as its name suggests, is a private and luxurious cottage built with romance in mind: Dual rain showers, double spa bath, fireplace, sumptuous leather sofa, magnificent audio/visual system – it’s a decadent retreat. The White Cliffs suite is a spacious suite offering a king bed with sumptuous memory foam topper (bed can be split into singles, but when the topper is on, you’d never know). There is room for an additional single bed in this suite as required. The Lake Taupo suite is a smaller suite with queen bed, yet with magnificent views and all the amenities. The White Cliffs suite and the Lake Taupo suite both have access to a large kitchenette stocked with teas, coffees, beers, wines, and a library of DVDs for in-room entertainment.

Rob & Becky's relaxed nature will make you feel like you're visiting friends. Complimentary pre-dinner drinks & hors d'oeuvres provide an opportunity for guests to get to know each other and share stories at the end of each day, guests may help themselves to complimentary beers, wines and soft drinks at any time, and Rob takes great joy in selecting music to suit a variety of tastes from his comprehensive collection. Rob & Becky have experienced virtually all activities the Taupo region has to offer and use this experience to help guests plan activities each day. Within a 2 hour radius of Taupo (which includes Rotorua, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Tongariro National Park and the Hawkes Bay wine district) there are more unique and diverse sightseeing, adventure and cultural options than anywhere else in New Zealand.

Continental and made-to-order cooked breakfasts are included in your tariff. Rob is the breakfast baker, specializing in breads, muffins, banana-raisin loaf and his personal favourite buttermilk waffles. Becky is renowned for her baked eggs, Huevos Rancheros (Mexican-style eggs), Eggs Benedict and other breakfast treats
Candlelight evening dining with a three-course meal and fine wines is an optional extra on Fridays and Saturdays, at a cost of $NZ80.00 per person including wines. A lovely bar and restaurant is located just 2 minutes away, and a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and bars are less than 8 minutes away in Taupo. We offer a complimentary drop-off service, and a taxi ride home is generally around $NZ20.00.

All guests have access to the lounge/reading room, with log fire, computer with high-speed internet access, and a library of books to browse. All guests also have access to the extensive patio - a great space to relax with a good book and perhaps a glass of wine.
And the coup d’etat? Becky is a massage therapist, so if you need some pampering, or want to get rid of a few aches and pains after an active day exploring our region, there’s no better way to treat yourself.
