Sanda House B&B (1840)Heritage listed in Orford on the sunny east coast of Tas. Made of sandstone and fieldstone,it is furnished with family antiques, all rooms have the original stone walls and it has a wonderful ambience. We offer Q size &twin rooms with private facilities, elec blankets, heating, TV. B'fast is in the dining room in front of the fire. Max 6 people.Home made jams and bread, good coffee, cereal, yoghurt, fruit. We have an acre of garden filled with natives, roses, bulbs and a vegetable patch. There is a mixed orchard, and an English Setter named Chester. Lots of peace and quiet. Wander around the garden, pick fruit in season. Know what a stress free life feels like. We'd love to see you. TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT IF BOOKING LESS THAN 24HRS OUT PLEASE RING US TO CHECK AVAILABILITY. Tea/coffee making in room, hairdryer, guest sitting room with books, games, music, local info, history etc. Complimentory port and caramels. Cancellation policy:- 1st night payable if cancelling inside 48hrs from date of booking. |

| Getting There |
By car, one hour NE of Hobart on the Tasman hway, through Sorell to Orford. At first intersection, (at the bridge), turn right into Charles St and look for the Sanda House sign at the end of Charles St. Hairpin left turn into Walpole St (runs parallel to Charles St). Or FROM Freycinet, thru Swansea, straight thru Oford, over Prosser River, str ahead up Charles then as above. Use us as a base for day trips to Port Arthur, Maria Island, Richmond, Freycinet. Walk to fantastic pizza/pasta at Scorchers, who specialise in fresh Tas produce. Local Spring Bay scallops,mussels etc are used on pizzas and in pasta. |

| Things To Do |
Check out the convict history.Take a walk on the old convict road along the river. A 10 min forest walk from Sanda to long,empty, white sandy beaches. Take the ferry to Maria Island Nat Park. Visit Darlington Winery, 20min drive to fascinating little rain forest, swimming,(bring your wetsuit), walks, fishing, golf, bowls, bird watching. Fish and chips on the beach. Sit in the garden and talk to the dog, listen to the silence, read, feel the tension drain away. Get up early and watch the sunrise over Maria Island from the beach. |
