At a 3.5 star rating, Anchor Down Cottages invite you to our very special part of the world on the edge of our luscious rainforests and wilderness. We aim to make you feel very much at home in our spacious 2 bedroom cottages with queen size beds, including all the comforts of home. With laundry & BBQ facilities you are welcome to relax and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing and travelling our great state. Within a kilometer of all tourist attractions and 15 minutes from the Great Ocean beach with sand dunes just waiting for your enjoyment with family & friends. Annie & Max are happy to take care of all tour bookings whilst you enjoy your stay in Strahan. Strahan is a quiet picturesque village on the West Coast of Tasmania that leads you to a wilderness haven of birds and wildlife, beautiful beaches and sunsets of magnificent splendour. |

| Getting There |
We are located approximatley 4.5 hours from Hobart. Dewent Bridge is about halfway and you can get meals & coffee here or at Lake St.Clair. As you come into Strahan town boundary you will come to a T/section off Reid Street. Turn right into Harvey street and follow the road about 600m to the roundabout where you will find Anchor Down. Leaving the north west, Launceston or Cradle Mountain you will come in in the Henty Main Road from Zeehan and arrive at the roundabout in Strahan where you will find Anchor Down. |
| Parking |
All cottages are at ground level therefore, off street parking is available with your vehicle parked right outside the door of your cottage. Managers live on site close to all cottages. |
| Things To Do |
There are plenty of things to do from the World Heritage Cruises & Gordon River Cruises for you to explore a harbour twice the size of Sydney Harbour to the Wilderness Railway which is world renown for its scenery. There is also wild rivers jet tours, 4 wheel bike tours across miles of Henty sandunes (highly recommended), sailing cruises, seaplanes & helicopter tours for our rare natural treasures, fishing and bushwalking and sunsets over the Great Ocean Beach. |
