| Things To Do |
Cooma is home to the famous Snowy Mountains Scheme and the Snowy Hydro Limited has a very interesting and educational visitor centre. A must for visitors to the region. Tours to the power stations are also available. In the centre of town is the Cooma Gaol and it runs a very interesting Museum. The Raglan Gallery Cultural Centre, situated in the Lord Raglan Inn, built in 1854, features exhibitions and displays of local arts and craft. Explore the heritage of Cooma through the Lambie Town Walk – Cooma’s oldest street. Use Cooma as a base to explore the fascinating Monaro Plains and its quaint villages, such as Dalgety and Nimmitabel. Drive through the spectacular Snowy Mountains and the Kosciusko National Park. Go back in time and visit the historic township of Kiandra. On your way experience the beauty of the Yarrangabilly Caves. Try your luck at trout fishing and for the energetic, experience the same sights, sounds and smells as the “Man for Snowy River” with a horse back ride through the mountains and plains. Boating on the Eucumbene and Jindabyne Dams is fun for all. |
