“The Ambers" is a charming old-style European country house set in 14 park-like acres with formal rose gardens, fountains, mature trees and olive grove. It is situated on the main road north, just 20 minutes north of Auckland. There are beautiful beaches, golf courses, cafes and restaurants nearby and the country market on Saturday mornings is always worth a visit. Tiri Tiri Matangi Island bird sanctuary is also close by and can be reached by local ferry. There are many coastal walks in the vicinity. The Ambers, a luxury B&B, offers elegant country accommodation inclusive of full European-style cooked breakfast. Breakfast is served in our formal dining room with fine linen and silver tableware or on the terrace for a more relaxed start to the day. In the evening sit in the garden with complimentary pre-dinner drinks and hors-d’oeuvres or play a game of petanque. In winter relax in front of a roaring open fire in our elegant lounge with a vintage sherry or port and play chess. We have 4 double bedrooms, 3 with their own ensuites. Choose from our elegant “Regency Room” or French style “Blue Room” both on the 1st floor, or our romantic attic suite with antique claw-footed bath. The two attic rooms make an ideal family suite. We look forward to welcoming you in our home. |

Rates are for 2 people, maximum occupancy is 3. One queen sized bed plus 1 single bed in an annex. Has own ensuite only if Large Attic Room is not occupied. Large and Small Attic Rooms combined is ideal for family of four, 5 at most. Cot available Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $140.00. Extra children $70.00. The room caters for a maximum of 3 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 3 guests in total. Available bedding configurations:

Business FacilitiesThe Ambers Luxury B&B offers a quiet retreat for small executive conferences. We have four double rooms available and nearby motels may accommodate more guests.We provide phone, fax, email, broadband internet access, all from a private study. The spacious lounge and dining room serves as a conference room. A projector and a projector screen can be provided upon request. As the lounge has an open fire it is an ideal place to discuss those important management issues without having to leave the house. |

| Getting There |
From Auckland International Airport: The road from the airport to the Ambers B&B is rather tricky. We suggest you follow signs to Auckland City. The highway will turn into normal roads, then back into highway. As long as you follow the signs for “Motorway Auckland” you are right. The idea is that you go north. Once you are on the Northern motorway, it is easy. You just keep going all the way north, over the Harbour Bridge, past Takapuna, stay on the highway. Direction Whangarei. About 30-40 min past the Harbour Bridge – still on the highway - you should see a sign “Silverdale” exit. Take this exit, turn left towards Dairy Flat, but only 200 meters, then turn right into Pine Valley Road, down the hill. We are in the first bend, on the right hand side, a tall, three story country house at the end of a long straight drive For the ultimate in luxury, we can also arrange for our chauffeur-driven Jaguar to pick you up and deliver you straight to our B&B. As the Ambers is a country house set in 14 acres, we have no restrictions either on the number of cars or where they should park - but under-cover parking is not available |
| Things To Do |
The B&B is ideally situated close to Orewa beach. For cheap shopping, Silverdale has a wide variety of well-known seconds-shops, as well an antique shop and other village shops. An inexpensive public golf course, a real snow indoor ski slope (known as the Snowplanet) and Action Raceway Go-Karting are less than a kilometre away.
