The Hotel Villa Gasparini is a historic hotel situated in Dolo, a small town along the Riviera del Brenta, 15 km away from Venice and Padua. These two well-known tourist destinations can easily be reached thanks to a convenient and frequent public bus connection. Villa Gasparini was built in the 18th century by the Venetian family carrying the same name as a summer country house. At the time, well-to-do people enjoyed spending the summer in their elegant abodes at the gates of Venice, known as “villas”, in a relaxing landscape amongst parks, fields and the river. Following various events through the centuries, by a whim of fate, Villa Gasparini came back into the hands of the descendants, who renovated the building, turning it into a hotel. Hotel guests can therefore consider themselves guests of the Gasparini family and will be welcomed in an unconventional, very intimate environment, surrounded by the echoes of splendour and by memories of the past. One of the 15 rooms of the Hotel Villa Gasparini will offer you what suits you best, whether you are on a romantic escapade, enjoying a cultural city-break, on a work trip or traveling with your family. We’ll help you choose the room that is tailored to your needs. |

| Things To Do |
The Hotel Villa Gasparini is located 5 minutes away from the centre of Dolo, a typical and welcoming town along the river Brenta and the ideal point of departure to visit the surrounding area, rich in historic spots and beautiful landscapes, and well-known for its food and wines. Walking around the pedestrian area in the centre is both pleasant and romantic, with many typical restaurants along the river bank. The Hotel Villa Gasparini is located just a few kilometers away from Venice and Padua (approximately 15), on the main road connecting the two cities (SS11). The hotel is well-connected by public transport to the Piazzale Roma terminal in Venice and the Piazzale Boschetti terminal in Padua (both trips take about 30 minutes). The stop is 20 meters from the hotel and buses run approximately every 20 minutes, saving tourists the hassle of driving in unknown areas. The bus terminals are the ideal starting point for a visit of both Venice and Padua. All you need is stamina, resistance and a lot of curiosity: everything is within reach both from Piazzale Roma and Piazzale Boschetti, mostly by foot. The Veneto features various environments and any time of the year is suitable for a different holiday, be it the mountains, the seaside, the hills or the spas, but its endless art and cultural heritage is especially unique. Here are some suggestions: Between Venice and Padua: the Riviera del Brenta and the Veneto villas Located right at the heart of the Riviera del Brenta, the hotel allows to comfortably visit the Veneto villas and their parks, sumptuous holiday houses built by Venetian nobles from the 17th century, some of which are the work of the famous Andrea Palladio. Many of them are public, others are private, but can be visited by previous reservation. Villas can be visited in a number of ways: by driving or riding a bus along the main road on the side of the river or following the bicycle routes along the river Brenta (bicycles can be rented at the hotel). The most fascinating way to carry out your visit, however, is the old waterway, where the traditional boats, the burchielli still sail (advance booking with one of the companies organizing the traditional trips is necessary). The Riviera del Brenta is famous for its food and wine tradition. There are many restaurants and osterias, mostly specializing in traditional fish courses. This area is also well-known for the production of footwear, which results in many outlets where shoes can be purchased directly. Many international fashion houses have their top-level shoes produced here. Venice and Padua (15 km). Venice can be reached by bus, which will take you from the hotel straight to Piazzale Roma, the terminal of the old town. From there on, you’ll find yourselves immersed into something absolutely unique and magic, where the streets are made of water and cars are replaced by boats. It’s a romantic and melancholic city, if you get lost in the less touristy districts (Cannaregio and Castello), lively and boisterous in its markets (the most famous is the Rialto fish market), distinguished and elegant in the St. Mark Square and luxurious are the shops at its gates, in the Mercerie area. But it remains unique always and anywhere. Padua can also be reached in a few minutes by bus from the hotel. The last stop is Piazzale Boschetti, the Padua terminal, at a 10-minute walk from the old town. Padua is the learned city, with a historic university tradition, whose magnificent squares are the dropback for swarming students. It’s Giotto’s city and his work in the Scrovegni Chapel is definitely worth visiting. It’s also St. Anthony’s city and the Basilica, where the Saint’s remains are kept, has become the destination of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. The Hotel Villa Gasparini is an ideal starting point to visit so much more than described above. You can easily reach Venice Lido, for a summer break on the beach; take a trip to Terme Euganee; explore the hills around Padua with the fortified towns of Este and Montagnana; visit Vicenza and take a look at Palladio’s work; travel to Verona and listen to the opera in the Arena; take a tour of Treviso and the surrounding hills. |
