Cottage Mews Motel has a genuine cottage theme. It is on the lake side of Lake Terrace in Two Mile Bay. The complex has 2 lakeview units(sleep 2), 4 family units (sleep 4), and 5 studio units (sleep 2). Extra beds, cots and highchairs are available. There's a private path from Cottage Mews to a safe swimming beach and the paved Lions Walkway which runs along the lake edge to town about 3 kilometres away. Beautiful views of the mountains can be seen across the lake. Lakeview units (2) Each lakeview unit has a queensize bed, double whirlpool spa bath,ensuite and TV downstairs, and living with kitchen facilities, TV, CD player and views of the lake upstairs. Each also has its own area for relaxing outside. Family units A family unit has a queensize bed, double whirlpool spa bath, TV and toilet upstairs, and a small outdoor deck area. Downstairs are 2 single beds, full kitchen facilities and a separate bathroom. Outside the living area is a private garden courtyard. Studios Each spacious studio unit has a queensize bed, double whirlpool spa bath, kitchen facilities with microwave and hob top, separate bathroom with shower, TV and private garden courtyard. The Nook This small studio has a queensize bed, double whirlpool spa bath, ensuite, TV,tea and coffee making facilities and a private courtyard. This unit is ideal for an overnight stay. We are happy to deliver a cooked or continental breakfast to your unit. There is offstreet parking for each unit. You are welcome to use the guest laundry. There are several restaurants within walking distance of Cottage Mews. Cottage Mews, beside the lake and close to central Taupo, is quiet, relaxed and relaxing. |

| Getting There |
Cottage Mews Motel is located in Two Mile Bay on the lake side of Lake Terrace, approximately 3 kilometres south of the centre of town. Our address is 311 Lake Terrace, Taupo. Driving time from Wellington is about 4.5 hours and from Auckland 3.5 hours. If you are arriving from the south, you'll see our sign on your left, just past the Two Mile Bay Sailing Centre. Coming along Lake Terrace from the north, drive past the turnoff to Napier (State Highway 5)and continue past Shepherd and Tremaine streets on your left. You'll see Cottage Mews on the right at the top of a small rise. |

| Things To Do |
Taupo is situated at the northern end of Lake Taupo in the centre of the Taupo Volcanic Zone which runs from the mountains through to the coast and White Island beyond. It is a major centre for outdoor pursuits, including boating, fishing, tramping and cycling. It is 85 minutes from the Ruapehu skifields and all that Tongariro National Park offers. Rotorua is a 50-minute drive north. Hawkes Bay is less than two hours drive away. Taupo's main visitor attractions, apart from the stunning lake itself, are activities like jet boating, bungy jumping, skydiving, rafting, boating and, of course, fishing. We have an energetic community and there is always something happening. Events like the Round the Lake Cycle Challenge, the New Zealand Ironman, the Oxfam Trailwalker and many others are based here. Our retail centre has the familiar names that you might expect in a much bigger centre, and it has many smaller boutique shops which offer hours of browsing enjoyment. Our cafes are easy to find and hubs of activity. |
