Nestled into the Grampians National Park on 300 acres, just 10 minutes from Halls Gap, Boroka Downs is a five star experience for discerning couples not to be missed. You will be one of just five couples in one of the five identical residences well spread out on an 800 meter elevated ridge which runs mid-way through the undulating property. A curved glass façade allows for magnificent mountain and wildlife views whilst relaxing in the large circular spa, the king bed, or on the generous sofa in front of the warming open fire in winter or the cooling air-conditioner for warmer times. Relax too with the inspiring entertainment system with widescreen digital LCD TV, surround sound stereo, iPod dock and DVD. Included in your tariff is unlimited access to the extensive DVD library in reception. Gourmet cooks will delight in the complete kitchen facilities. Boroka Downs consists of 300 undulating acres and shares a 1Km border with the Grampians National Park. Large areas around each residence have been reserved exclusively for the native animals of the Park, with which we co-habitate. We guarantee you will see kangaroos every evening and morning (Kangaroos are basically nocturnal animals) and a multitude of birds. Each couple is provided with a bird guide and binoculars for use during their stay. Emus wander through the property at will as does the occasional echidna and a variety of other native species - all of which are very welcome. Boroka Downs is an environmentally sensitive accommodation provider with solar energy design to minimise energy usage (tinted double glazing and full envelope insulation), a full recycling programme, solar hot water (backed up with a gas booster on overcast days for unlimited hot water), an ongoing tree planting programme with over 4000 trees and shrubs planted,and farmland on which absolutely minimal chemicals are used. | Getting There |
Boroka Downs is a 3 hour drive from Melbourne. Take the Western Highway to Ballarat and Ararat. Drive through the main street of Ararat and continue on to Moyston (15Km) and Pomonal(20Km). Drive 5km from Halls Gap towards Pomonal and crest a hill and you will see the Boroka Downs sign pointing up Birdswing Road to the left. 500 meters up Birdswing Road, turn left into the property and continue past all five residences to the main house at the end of the 800 meter driveway and Reception. |

Kangaroo and Birdwatching with bird book and binoculars provided. Watch movies DVDs freely available from reception. Enjoy the kangaroos in their natural environment without moving from the spa, bed or fireside. |
