The "Europa", built in 1869 as the "Grand Hotel de l'Europe", the hotel quickly established its reputation as the Number One Place to Stay, with its distinguished guests lavishing praise upon it. It is still the only 5-star hotel in Innsbruck. The legendary Ludwig II, King of Bavaria, declared: "This is the most beautiful place in Innsbruck to celebrate a special occasion. Situated in the heart of the city, today's Europa combines the ultimate in comfort with Tyrolean tradition and the atmosphere of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire. Opposite the hotel is Innsbruck's new main station and the the Europa has a direct connection to the station through the "Europatunnel". | Getting There |
by train: the main station is opposite the hotel. our guests can use the "Europatunnel", which is the direct underground connection from the station to the hotel lobby. by bus: all public busses as well as the ski coaches arrive and departe in front of the hotel/main station. by taxi: Hotel's address: Suedtiroler Platz 2, 6020 Innsbruck - for example from the airport: 10-15 minutes drive by car: leave the motorway A12 at "Innsbruck Ost", follow straight the "Südring", pass by the Olympic stadion, after the bridge turn right, direction main station, drive straight ahead, you will see the main station, on your left handside there is the Hotel Europa Tyrol. |
| Parking |
There is a public garage in the area of the main station. Next to the entrance of the "Europatunnel" - the direct conncection to the hotel lobby, there is a lot of secure parking space for our guests. Also the tunnel is very secure (with video control). Charges for the garage are EUR 16,80 per day, EUR 20,- for 3 days and EUR 37,- for a week. These costs must be paid extra, they are not included in the room rates. |
| Things To Do |
Innsbruck offers a wide range of attractions, such as the imperial palace, the court church, the famous "Golden Roof", the historic old part of the city, a lot of history and art museums, souvenir shops, little bars and restaurants, shopping facilities - all these attractions are just 10 walking minutes aways from the hotel. Of course lot of concerts, operas and theater performances take place in Innsbruck. Very popular are the Swarovski Crystall Worlds in Wattens - which are reachable within 20 minutes by bus. Guests have the chance to have a coffee in the restaurant on the "Bergisel", where the ski jump contests take place and where you will have a great view over Innsbruck. Also easy reachable are the surrounding areas, where you can enjoy guided tours to some mountain huts, mountainbike pathways, a picnic in nature near a little lake, and of course Innsbruck and the surrounding area offers a lot of possibilities to go skiing. Around Innsbruck you will find 9 skiing areas, reachable from 10 to 50 minutes by coach, which is free of charge. A trip to the Castle of Ambras is also very popular, guests can take the "Sightseer" bus in which they will also have an audio guide. A complete city tour can be organised with a professional city guide, who really can give everyone an impression of the former Tyrol and all sites. Some people really love to go to the Bell Museum of family Grassmayr. After the visit, guests can produce their own little bells as nice souveniers. |
