Situated in one of Australia's best preserved historic towns in North East Victoria, the award winning La Trobe at Beechworth offers a unique and idyllic setting for a short break. We are easily accessed by car, coach or rail. La Trobe at Beechworth is set in 11 hectares of heritage gardens, close to the historic town of Beechworth, the Victorian Alps, wineries, golf courses, fishing, the Rail Trail,etc. We have 2 hotel buildings on site and self catering lodges and cottages are scattered over our scenic premises. The main hotel building is the Kerferd Centre and contains standard room types and the King Suites. The Kerferd Centre is a more modern style of building with facilities including an outdoor pool, sauna, gymnasium and business centre. The secondary hotel building is the Linaker Hotel, which contains deluxe rooms and Suites. The Linaker Hotel is a fully refurbished three story art-deco building. Sambell's Bar & Bistro is located within the Kerferd Centre and is open to the public for lunch (Thursday - Sunday) and dinner (7 nights) featuring modern Australian cuisine. We cater for groups, conventions, conferences, functions, etc. The Spa at Beechworth, a revitalising and rejuvenating day spa is located on site (open Wednesday - Sunday) and offer a range of treatments and products. Whay not indulge?... Also home to the 'Beechworth Ghost Tours'. Take a 1.5 or 2 hour tour through the historic site; learning about the residents and staff of the former 'Mayday Hills Mental Hospital'... The Gatehouse

Arriving by car/bus from Albury/Wodonga: Follow the signs for Beechworth, travel along Sydney Road, into Ford Street, turn left at the roundabout, travel along Albert Road up the hill. Pass through the gates of La Trobe at Beechworth at "Mayday Hills", turn right, reception is the building on the right hand side, approximately 300 meters along. Arriving by car/bus from Melbourne/Wangaratta: Follow the signs for Beechworth, travel along Bridge Street, into Ford Street, turn right at the roundabout, travel along Albert Road up the hill. Pass through the gates of La Trobe at Beechworth at "Mayday Hills", turn right, reception is the building on the right hand side, approximately 300 meters along. By rail: The nearest station is in Wangaratta. From here a bus/taxi can take you to Beechworth in approximately 25 min. |

There is ample car parking facilities at all accommodation options at La Trobe at Beechworth. Car parking is off-street and is included in your stay. Security officers patrol our venue at night time. |
| Things To Do |
The hotel is situated amongst 11 hectares of heritage listed gardens. A self-guided walk of our premises is a must. Our grounds offer historic buildings, such as our Victorian Bijou Theatre and our Chapel. The historic township of Beechworth is a comfortable 10 min. walk. We are 2 min away from the Rail Trial, a popular cycling track. On site, we have "The Spa at Beechworth", offering treatments and packages to suit all. Open from Wednesday through to Sunday. Also home to the 'Beechworth Ghost Tours', whom will provide you with some history of the former hospital and tantilise you with stories of the people that once lived here... The Victorian Alps are a short drive away. There are a range of magnificent golf courses around. And don't forget the many wineries, eateries and restaurants in the area. |
