| Getting There |
We are on the North Moreton Bay Tourism Drive which you can identify by the large brown main road signs baring the title, with a logo of a Dugong. If you follow those signs you can’t miss us. To get to Naracoopa by car, we are 20 minutes north of the airport, and very convenient to it. From the airport take the Gateway Motorway north. You will exit at the Sandgate exit. Once off the highway, turn left onto Depot Rd. You will go under the Motorway, follow the road through, past the high school on your right and Chinese Temple on the left. You will cross over Sandgate Road. Stay on the same street but it becomes Board St. Follow Board St through to a round-a-bout, the road then becomes Rainbow St. Follow Rainbow St through Sandgate, past the train station on the right, and post office and village of Sandgate on the left. Rainbow leads to Shorncliffe at which point it becomes Friday St. Follow Friday St past the train station on the right. Turn left on to Swan St and then left again into Yundah St. Naracoopa is 99 Yundah St, the second house on the left. Note the B&B sign and rather large pink colonial Queenslander. If you like you may also catch a train from the airport. The station is located directly outside the airport doors. On entry to train, travel about 7 minutes to the Eagle Junction Train Station. Get off here and walk across the platform to catch the Shorncliffe Train line going north. Shorncliffe is the end of the line so therefore the last stop. Exit the station by turning right and walking through the car park. Walk one block up Swan St turn left onto Yundah St. Naracoopa is 99 Yundah St, the second house on the left. Note the B&B sign and rather large pink colonial Queenslander. A train ride will cost approximately $10 per person from the airport. Coming from the north on the Sunshine Coast and Bruce Highway, take the Gateway and Airport exit. Look for the Sandgate/Bracken Ridge exit. Exit will come to a round-a-bout and follow the signs to Sandgate and Sandgate Village. Once through the village via Brighton Rd, turn left onto Seymour St. The town hall will be on this corner. Follow along the cliff top on Eagle Tce until you get to Yundah St which veers off to the right. Three blocks down on the left is Naracoopa, 99 Yundah St. |
| Parking |
Car parking is provided in front of the B&B on the grass strip. We ask that guests angle in nose first as to allow additional cars to park. |
| Things To Do |
Naracoopa is positioned in the northern suburbs of Brisbane on Moreton Bay and is just a short stroll to the bay, cliffs and pier. Enjoy glorious sunsets along established walkways where the historical buff may view and appreciate the many heritage Queenslanders dotting the cliff top. Award winning restaurants, cafes, pubs and yacht club are all within easy walking distance. Boondall Wetlands and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre are a quick 10 minute train ride. The city train, one block away, will whisk you into the city life, shopping, entertainment, galleries and museums. Very easy access to the Gateway Motorway in 5 minutes will get you to the airport quickly and the Sunshine Coast, where you will find the resort haven of Noosa or the arts and crafts of Montville and Maleny in 45 minutes. There is only one Shorncliffe... the peace and ambience creates a place to slow down and unwind in this tranquil setting. |
