Metro Hotel Sydney Central is ideally located for both the corporate and leisure guest. The hotel's proximity to the city centre means it is only a short walk for business guests to all major corporate and government offices. For those attending one of the many national or international conferences and trade shows at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, the hotel is just a pleasant 10 minute stroll away. Guests staying at Metro Hotel Sydney Central have all the wonders that Sydney has to offer at their doorstep. Only minutes away from the excitement and hustle and bustle of Darling Harbour, Cockle Bay Wharf, Star City Casino, Sydney Entertainment Centre, Chinatown, the new World Square Shopping Centre, Paddy's Markets, Oxford Street and the city's dining and cinema districts. And catching public transport is a breeze. Town Hall and Central railway stations and Central’s Coach Terminal are just a short walk away, with the Metro Light Rail and Monorail service only a few footsteps from the hotel. Buses to all parts of the city are only one block away on George Street. From booking a day-trip to recommending places to eat out or even organising a special occasion "just right", our staff are always happy to help you find your way around the wonderful city of Sydney. Security is our priority, with a 24 hour staffed reception desk and all guest rooms accessed only by personal security keycard. All rooms have FOXTEL with channels Fox Sports 1 & 2, Fox Footy, Fox 8, BBC World and Bloomberg (finance). Internet access is available via telephone data-ports in all rooms. Hotel telephone charges will apply per call and it is recommended that you utilize a local Sydney internet server as you will be charged at STD or IDD hotel telephone rates otherwise. We also have wireless broadband available in the hotel lobby and waiting areas. These are available for purchase in timed blocks at the hotel reception desk. Non-smokers can guarantee a room on a non-smoking floor simply by booking one of our Superior rooms, all located on the top 6 floors of the hotel. The Standard rooms have a mixture of smoking and non-smoking floors and whilst we try to meet all requests these cannot be guaranteed. For the added convenience of our guests the Metro Hotel Sydney Central also boasts an in house restaurant – the Indigo on Capitol Restaurant and Bar serves a tantalizing array of authentic and traditional Malaysian dishes. Accredited with the Halal trademark, the Indigo on Capitol is open for Breakfast (7 days) and Dinner (Tues-Sat).
