Glendinning House

Choose a room from NZ$380
Named after its original owner Robert Cassels Glendinning, this triple brick Edwardian Gentleman's Residence took over four years to construct using quality local materials. The stained glass windows and stunning entrance set still enhance the splendour of Robert's vision. Glendinning House offers all the atmosphere of the period with the highest levels of luxury and comfort. Business and leisure travellers accustomed to superior standards of service and appointments will enjoy finer comforts as well as the prime location.
Glendinning House consists of two guest rooms. The Blue Suite is a large, luxury suite comprising master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and adjacent dressing room fitted with an antique double bed. The elegant Yellow Room is a light, airy room with a private bathroom across the landing, including a shower and restored claw foot bath.

Original tiled fireplaces, quality toiletries, fresh flowers, bathrobes and slippers, and central heating make each room a restful haven. King-size beds clad in crisp cotton and designer linens, combined with spectacular city and harbour views make our rooms a joy to come home to.

The Glendinning House gardens set the tone and ambience well before stepping through the front door. We have created a formal garden for your enjoyment and a simple Potager, contributing many of the herbs, vegetables and berries for the kitchen. A private garden/courtyard is yours to enjoy over the summer months, along with sheltered off street parking.

Enjoy Glendinning House’s exceptional service and complimentary aperitifs – New Zealand wines or a spirit from the selection on the drinks trolley- while relaxing in front of a roaring open fire; or take breakfast - crafted from the best of local produce - al fresco if you choose.

Fresh fruit, mineral water, delicious home-baking and the finest teas and coffees are available any time during your stay; business facilities include WiFi, fax and telephone access.
At Glendining House, our breakfast fare consists of a wide range of delicacies made in-house. Enjoy fresh fruit platters; bottled Central Otago stone-fruit, home-made muesli and conserves. Our hot dishes use local products and free-range eggs. Freshly baked pastries are served with our own blend of freshly ground coffee and a range of teas.

Complimentary aperitifs are served prior to your dinner reservations. Local Evansdale cheeses, home-made appetisers and local delicacies may be enjoyed with fine New Zealand wines or a selection from our drinks trolley.

In our guest rooms we provide tea and coffee, home-baking, fresh fruit, NZ Natural mineral water and Port.
Glendinning House is located in one of Dunedin's finest areas with easy access to shopping (3 minutes), art galleries, Olveston, Taieri Gorge Railway trips, Moana Pool, walking tracks and more.

There are many things to tempt and charm in Dunedin: hip cafes and cutting edge restaurants, the Royal albatross colony, yellow eyed penguin adventure tours, antiques, golf courses and magnificent Victorian architecture including Larnach castle.
