From the West or airport, keep on State Highway 6, which is the coastal road, until you see the docks on your left-hand side. Continue on to the roundabout; bear left and stay on the coastal road, cross over the river then turn right at the next roundabout, which is signposted City Centre, onto Trafalgar Street. Take the first left onto Wainui Street then first right onto Collingwood Street. California House Inn is on the left just before the bridge over the river. From the East, keep on State Highway 6 until you come to the first roundabout which is signposted City Centre, onto Trafalgar Street.
