Nestled in 20 acres of the fascinating Granite Belt you have the choice of 14 motel rooms or 14 two bedroom self-contained cottages. Here the birds and wildlife stay free. By day, visit some of the 50 wineries, lavender farms, art galleries, etc, either individually or as part of an organised tour. Spend another day walking at the nearby national parks of Girraween and Bald Rock, or visit Tenterfield home of Federation, less than an hours drive. At night groups can book the fully licensed restaurant, enjoy a BBQ around an open fire or you can simply relax in your cozy cottage near the fire. Murray Gardens is only a 15 minute walk (along the creek) to the CBD and is centrally located to all the attractions of the area. The cottages are all 2 bedroom and have full kitchen facilities, a lounge/dining room, either a gas or wood fire, fans and a verandah to enjoy a glass of the superb local wine while watching the many species of birds feed. The motel rooms are spacious, have full reverse cycle whisper quiet air conditioners and have all the usual facilities including hair dryers. The complex also has a guest laundry. Groups can be picked up in Brisbane, North and South Coasts and towns in Northern NSW. Stanthorpe enjoys a wide range of concerts all year long. Perhaps it is the fact that the area has 4 distinct seasons that makes it a must see on every itinery, but then again it could be the warm welcome that always awaits from this very friendly town. |

The local attractions include: Over 50 wineries with cellar doors, 4 lavender farms, seasonal fruit outlets - apples, stone fruit, berries etc. Concerts in vinyards and other venues. Day tours start from $60 and include lunch or you can visit at your own pace. Stanthorpe is within an hours drive of 4 spectacular National Parks - Sundown, Girraween and Bald Rock and Tenterfield. |
