Reopened in February 2000 as The Heritage Hanmer Springs, and situated in the glorious alpine setting of Hanmer Springs, 90 minutes (by car) north of Christchurch, this unique spa resort is the perfect retreat for rest, relaxation and replenishment. The completely restored former Hanmer Lodge is home to 38 rooms. In the delightfully landscaped grounds there are an additional 16 Garden Deluxe rooms and 11 fully self contained three bedroom Villas, designed to offer privacy and seclusion. Disabled units are also available. The Dining Room and Bar give the best of both seasons, with a roaring log-fire in winter complimented by al fresco dining in the summer months. Set amongst mature established trees and surrounded by distant hills the Heritage Hanmer Springs is a refreshing and unique destination for a leisure break, meeting or special occasion. |

Main bedding configuration is 2 Queen beds, 2 Single beds and ensuite bathroom, with fully self contained kitchen, dining and lounge area. Maximum occupancy is 6 persons. Rate based on 4 persons, additional pax $40 incl gst. Rates are for 4 people. Extra adults $40.00. Extra children $40.00. The room caters for a maximum of 6 adults, and a maximum of 4 children but cannot exceed 6 guests in total. The following bedding is provided:

Christchurch to Hanmer Springs - follow SH 1 north to Waipara, turn left onto SH 7 sign posted to the Hanmer Springs Junction where you turn right onto SH 7A, 10kms to the Hanmer Springs Township. Distance 135 kms Driving Time 1.5 to 2 hours Picton to Hanmer Springs - follow SH 1 south to Kaikoura, 3kms south of Kaikoura turn onto SH 70 (sign posted Mt Lyford/Hanmer Springs) follow this road to just beyond the Rotherham township where you turn right onto SH 7 and proceed to the Hanmer Springs Junction, where you turn right onto SH 7A, 10 kms to the Hanmer Springs Township. Distance 300 kms Driving Time 3.5 to 4 hours |

The Heritage Hanmer Springs offers off street parking in two areas, with parking available behind 8 Garden Rooms and the Villas offer a drive in lockable garage. There is a set down area undercover outside the main entry into the hotel. |
| Things To Do |
Known world-wide as a spa resort to "take the waters", Hanmer Springs is also well known for the variety of adventure activities at its doorstep. Golf, hunting, fishing, white water rafting, mountain biking and jet boating ..... even bungy jumping and in the winter, snow skiing at nearby ski fields. Guides can be organised for hunting and fishing trips. The Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, open daily from 10.00am until 9.00pm, this is the main attraction to Hanmer Springs. |
