Built in the 1930s, the original building was completely renovated and reopened as the Metro Hotel on Pitt, combining the classic art deco facade with a modern, state-of-the-art interior. The hotel's proximity to the city centre means it is only a short walk to all major corporate and government offices. For those attending one of the many national or international conferences and trade shows at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, the hotel is just a pleasant 10 minute stroll from this venue. Guests staying at Metro Hotel on Pitt, Sydney have all the wonders that Sydney has to offer at their doorstep. Only minutes away from the excitement and hustle and bustle of the Pitt Street Mall, Queen Victoria Building, Centrepoint Tower, Oxford Street, Chinatown, Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay Wharf. The wonders of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House are also just minutes away. And catching public transport is a breeze. From Sydney Airport take a taxi direct to the hotel or take the airport train (AirportLink) to Town Hall Station, only a one minute walk from the hotel. Airport buses stop directly opposite. From Central Station a five minute easy walk (or one minute taxi ride) is all it takes. |

Metro Hotel on Pitt offers a fantastic location for all the varied forms of entertainment that Sydney has to offer. For the best in Sydney theatre, concerts and other special performances the hotel is perfectly located. The Town Hall is 2 minutes walk, State Theatre is 5 minutes walk, The Capitol Theatre is 7 minutes walk, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre is 10 minutes walk. The Sydney Opera House is just 2 stops by train from nearby Town Hall station or less than $10.00 in a taxi. Star City's Lyric Theatre is also within easy reach by monorail. George St cinema complex is just 2 minutes walk, offering the latest blockbusters. For sports fans, the trains at nearby Town Hall station will get you to Olympic Park for all the biggest games and for Sydney Cricket Ground or Aussie Stadium games it is about $10.00 in a taxi or a leisurely 30 minute walk. |
