Knowledgeable reception staff will help you with hire cars, tours, transfers or booking services. The airport is 15-20 minutes away by car. The Airport Shuttle Bus provides a service to and from the airport. There is a direct line in house for taxi services, as well as an in-house Avis car hire service. From the airport take the southern outlet (A1) towards Launceston. Follow the signs to the City Centre via Bathurst Street and turn right under the bridge into Cimitiere Street. Turn right at second traffic light and then left into Cameron Street at first traffic light. The Hotel Grand Chancellor is located at 29 Cameron Street. |

Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston is a short walk from the main shopping precinct, tranquil gardens and other tourist attractions. Stroll through some of Australia's finest parks or along elegant Victorian streetscapes. Browse in the many boutiques and specialty shops. Visit the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery where there are displays of Aboriginal and convict relics, flora and fauna, and early colonial art. Take in a guided tour at the famous Boags Brewery, or explore the Tamar River aboard a paddle steamer. Nearby at Cataract Gorge Reserve is one of Launceston's spectacular natural attractions. Between the towering granite walls are walking tracks, a suspension bridge and the world's longest single-span chair lift. Further afield, there is Tasmania's official wine route to the Pipers Brook and Tamar Valley regions, and beautiful historical villages to discover. Local attractions include: City Park with the Japanese monkeys (200m). Tasmanian Design Centre (200 m). Old Launceston Seaport Marina (15marina walk). Cataract Gorge with chairlift (20 minute walk). Queen Victoria Museum (10 minute walk). Tamar Valley Wine Country with twenty-one cool-climate vineyards and numerous boutique food and craft producers.
