| Getting There |
From the airport, drive towards the city centre along Fendalton Road which will lead into Memorial Avenue. At the Hagley Park junction, turn left and drive along the park until the junction of Bealey Avenue and Papanui Road, turn left and drive along this road for about 800 metres, the Charlotte Jane is on the right hand side of the road. Our fence is lined with bushes, trees, shrubs and rocks. From the south, drive along Blenheim Road until you come to a round about, turn left and drive along Deans Avenue along the park and turn right to Harper Avenue. Drive along this road until you reach the intersection of Bealey Avenue and Papanui Road., keep on this road for about 800metres, the Charlotte Jane is on the right hand side of the road. Our fence is lined with bushes, trees, shrubs and rocks. From the North, drive along Highway 1 towards Christchurch City Centre. Keep on Main North Road towards Papanui Suburb. The road will take you into the quaint Merivale area and at the junction of Papanui and Webb Street is The Charlotte Jane. There will be a huge boulder with brass letterings at this corner. From the railway station, you will be coming in from the South. |

Christchurch is known as the garden city and a visit to our world renowned Botanic Gardens should be first on your list of things to do. From there it is a five minute stroll down Worcester Blvd to the City Center “Cathedral Square”. All around the square are numerous opportunities to shop, sightsee and socialize and many wonderful places to tempt your taste buds. You can hop aboard one of our beautifully restored vintage trams, hire a vintage car or bicycle, enjoy a gentle punt down the Avon River or simply stroll about on foot. Akaroa, situated on the Bank’s Peninsula, is a tiny picturesque French village just 90 minutes away from Christchurch. Banks Peninsula is the result of violent eruptions from a now dormant volcano. Akaroa Harbour and the surrounding bays, with their spectacular coastlines, is the remaining legacy of the earth’s fury. The highlight of the trip would be a cruise to see the Hectors Dolphins and the little Blue Penguin both natives of this area. For the thrill seeker, try exhilarating bungy jumping, rafting or mountain biking. The adventurer can explore breathtaking bush, lakes, and mountains, hiking, skiing or climbing. The romantic can bathe in luxury hot pools, visit our world class germens or wineries. For something truly unique , go whale watching, hot air ballooning or visit our rarest bird the Kiwi. There are many different and wonderful things to do in Christchurch and the surrounding areas so bring plenty of time with you. |
